Are certain BOEs and their application of principle the problem?

Were JWs ever on the right track?

Are the GBs the source of all the org troubles?

Is the ORG the itself the problem?

Is christianity wrong? the bible? all religion?

Why the H3LL am I half-way through life and just now starting to think like this for myself?

bodies of elders? no. they are just cogs in the wheel, programs in the matrix.

Were JWs ever on the right track?

no. plus their founder was a masonic pyramidologist.

Are the GBs the source of all the org troubles?

yes. if elders are just cogs on the wheel, they are the wheel.

Is the ORG the itself the problem?

GB/Org, same thing in my books.

Is christianity wrong? the bible? all religion?

    IMHO, yes, yes and yes.

Why the H3LL am I half-way through life and just now starting to think like this for myself?

i hear you. i am in same position. -- because of the GB. mind control. very powerful. unfortunately, critical thinking ability is not packaged with intelligence. it has to be learned. if you were raised in the truth, then you would rarely have been exposed to critical thinking.

BTW ljwtiamb, i always enjoy your questions. thanks for posting them.

Well, like any religion there's a lot of nice sincere people there...but...all along the belief has been, "our interpretation is right, yours is wrong, therefore God is going to kill you". That to me is not the right track.

I take it you've never read any of the insane (not to mention inane) ramblings of one "Pastor" Chaz Taze Russell then? If you had, you wouldn't be asking that question.

JW's were on the right track when Russel questioned organized religion. They went wrong when Russel began with the assumption that the bible was true. They stripped away the anthropology of the trinity, hell, and the soul...left with no bible at all, they completely invented a new way of viewing the world, a whole new religion. Much like Scientology, a completely unique positive claim is almost impossible to disprove.

I think things went wrong when Russel's parents decided to have sex for the first time.

Most of us here have had our spiritual porridge served up to us for a large proportion of our lives without ever having to think for ourselves. All we had to do was memorise stuff.

We all have questions now, but if we spend our time looking for someone who can answer our questions we may just end up in the same boat with a different skipper.

You have plenty of time to hone up your new skill ljwtiamb, thinking for yourself.

    Enjoy

Was there ever a right track to go wrong from?

The first time any group sets a date, they are on the wrong track.

I was watching a show on the Discovery (or History) Channel last week, re Armageddon and Revelation. There was one man that had the right idea. He said that it didn't matter to him when of if these things came true as others predicted because being a Christian was a day to day thing, your life regardless of when the END came.

Too bad JWs and other end-time religions don't concentrate more on the qualities of theirr character and how they interact with their fellow humans.
