I completely agree with you hillary_step. These seemingly boring-ass discussions helped me when I was first leaving the Watchtower. You guys are in the trenches helping lurkers find out the real truth.

first of all want to thank you all for informing me of the good the bad and smurfly about jws - i was so stoked when these two sister's knocked on my door.

i apologise now - i was a smug git - in fairness they conducted themselves impeccably in the face of me.

this is how it went (paraphrased to highlight 'clever' bits i said and downplay swathes of conversation when i said silly things.

well, the shitbag watchtower snake is back just when things were getting good.

my mom and dad are getting seperated now because a couple of elders told my still active dad it was a good idea since she has apostate "leanings".

Well, the shitbag Watchtower snake is back just when things were getting good. My mom and dad are getting seperated now because a couple of elders told my still active dad it was a good idea since she has apostate "leanings". They called me "poison" and told my mom that I am trying to "poison her too". She's doped up on a ton of antidepressants and they all think she's crazy because she can't express her disbelief in the organization very eloquently. I tried to get the names of the elders that are harrassing her but she wouldn't tell me since she's afraid they'll come back and DF her if I call them up.

I'm glad I left the Witness cult but my parents lives are completely messed up now.

God led me to the JW congregation.

i rented a house in the late !970's and the contents in the home were given to me.. it happened to be books: ( making my life happy, revelation, children bible stories, listening to the great teacher ) i was enjoying the reading.. -----------------------------------.

a few years later began to notice awake magazines in doctor offices, and other public places and read them and enjoyed them.. ------------------------------------.

late 1980's my 7th son was 2 yrs.

finally have the time to type more than a sentance.... .

my name is, mike warren... that's my real age in my profile...& yes that's my real pic.

though i was never baptized, i was raised in the silly religion... my parents started their study in early 1974 (at least i got 1birthday &1 christmas, not that i remember...) mom was baptized in less than a year after she started her study... it took my father about 7-8 more years to give up smoking, but he still made all the meetings & ruled with a leather belt.. i also have a younger sister that has faded (she got baptized).

Do you look better or worse

the other day i was looking at some old photos of my wife as a young witless teen.

several of the pictures were taking at assemblies and gatherings/weddings.. what amazed me is that she looks better today than she did as a witless teen or early twenties.

i don't mean just the expression on her face, but also the way she was dressed.

I look happier and healthier in the photo's I've seen of myself, post DA'ing from that mind-f*ck of a cult. I was pretty much always drunk in my Witness pictures, with a totally lost and lonely gaze that creeps me out the bone.
