I'm going to be hitting a Unitarian church this Sunday to check it out. They have no real doctrines and are mostly interested in humanitarian concerns so it should be interesting.

i teeter on that myself.
but i have toyed with hooking to a little country church with some friendly people to associate with.

Shawn, you have to realize that any negative comments abou the WTBTS, ANYTHING.. will be you fulfilling a prophecy that the witnesses have warned her about. This STRENTHENS THEIR RESOLVE to 'remain loyal to Jehovah and his Organization' because, in their brains, they are watching divine warfare in REAL LIFE!! When a potential cultist buys into the logic that the entire world is under Satan's control and only by doing whatever they are told by the Governing Body can they have a hope for everlasting life, they become a shell of their old selves. Its scary as hell to watch happen and hard to understand, but that's the way it is man and you have to be smart about things if you want a hope in hell of getting her out.

i have a weak dad, instead of her being subjected to him, he's subjected to her.
he's on my side on most of the part but he's just weak on setting her straight.

Another group sues ex-members over website
by DocBob inafter i posted a news item on my website about charges in a lawsuit against rick ross being dropped in federal court, a couple who is still involved in the lawsuit contacted me.
they are jim bergin and judy garvey.
as i read their site, especially jim's article a husband's perspective , i could not help but be stuck by the similarities between many of their experiences and ours.

I'm more interested in the Bible now that I believe it isn't inspired (?!)

if you havent looked into this stuff already, i'm telling ya it is some really facinating stuff.

Are you at all like me and have become more interested in the Bible since realizing it isn't inspired?? I really enjoy reading it now - I used to hate it when I was a Christian! What gives?
