  When you watched Star Wars did you feel like me?

  i could not help but think when the jw's watch star wars that anakin skywalker darth vader types in their minds are the apostates on the dark side selling their souls to the devil.

  i think some jw's will feel a self in powering zeal that testifies to their soul how misguided the all of us are.

  i know that when my brother (self righteous elder) watches this movie he will liken anakin skywalker to his poor misguided apostate brother.

  Why do you post here?

  for me, it's mainly the money and the women, i suppose.. no, but seriously, i was thinking the other day about why i post here.

  in september it will be two years since i left the organization.

  i don't much care for doctrinal debates anymore, and i usually pass on threads that are concerned with he-said-she-said kind of stuff inside the organization.

  I remember how I felt a few years ago, how desperate and unhappy as a witness with doubts.. I want to help people who felt the same way I did to get on with a much better life.

  Also, nobody else really understands like an ex-witness does. Its a unique bond that we all share.

  Some people feel a void after they leave the dubs. They miss the structure of the meetings and the instant 'friends' that go with that. And some people feel like they will be pleasing God if they are a part of a specific religion. It makes God more real to them I guess. Unfortunetly some don't really understand the characteristics of a cult and get sucked right back into another one.

  i was thinking last night about when the twin towers fell and i remembered thinking how close armageddon must be did anybody else think similar....i guess it would only apply to those who were still in the borg at the time es

  I was inactive from the dubs at the time the planes hit. It was scary but I didn't think it was the beginning of armageddon or anything. I know there were dubs practically frothing at the mouth happy to have more 'proof' that we are living in the 'time of the end'. An elder happily told me that a circuit overseer noticed there were "plenty of pink song books (the old style) being seen at the meetings since 9-11". I guess some inactive people were getting scared that "the doors of the ark are closing"..
