toughest question anyone can ask, if the love of your life, and mate/wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend messed around on you, whether it be once or for years, how would you handle it and what would you do, think about it slowly and carefully.. wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.. it's said that 50 % of marriages are affected by an affair, it's probaly alot higher.. did you notice any affairs in your congregation ???.

i look back now, and think, oh yeah there was.

does anyone else experience this or is it just me?

my jw mom just called and said she wanted me to call her back on my lunch break...but she didn't say why....so now i'm all nervous and worried, wondering what it is....did i get found out on this site by a lurker?...is there something wrong in the family?....i don't know!!!

now i have this awful knot in the pit of my stomach that's going to stay there until i find out what the hell's going on........does (or has) anyone else have this experience with their jw mom or dad...where they say they want to talk to you, and u have to sweat it out until they're ready?.......

Organisational Re-adjustments

right so i'm plowing through "crisis of conscience" and have come across one of the ""most significant organisation re-adustments in the moden day history of jws", where they speak about how the organisation will be run because of knorrs' failing health and how extra men will be appointed.

it got me thinking that surely they could have come up with more exciting changes & take overs.

it seems that everything was made to seem that this was a huge & signifcant thing in the everyday lives of us normal plebs, when in fact it went un-noticed really.

Self denial for the sake of the WTS?

I put myself on a hardcore stint (stint: short burst of zeal for dub related activities to save your sorry ass from impending destruction) for awhile after I got reproved once in highschool. About two weeks in I picked up a hot girl I used to hang out with a while back, that was hitchiking. When I got her home she asked me if I would like to "come upstairs smoke a joint with me and have sex?". I blurted out "Uhhh.. thats probably not a good idea.. right now." As I drove away, blueballed, I tried to keep telling myself that the holy spirit had protected me from the machanations of this evil vixen. I had passed a test from Satan himself.

I still regret that.

JW terminology really gets my goat

i don't know if its just me or if anyone else feels the same but it really annoys me when jehovahs witnesses use their terminology when speaking to a non jw.. for example, a jw woman is talking to a collegue who has never had a bible study and knows nothing about jws.. instead of saying "i have a friend coming for tea tonight" the woman says " one of the sisters is coming for tea tonight".. or, instead of "i was talking to a friend on the phone last night" she says "i was talking to an elder on the phone last night".. it just really winds me up, i think they do it to seem important and mysterious but it only leaves the other person confused.

When I was in high school I had a "worldly" girlfriend that came over to my house and overheard my mom and her friend talking about some "sister" who was "new in the truth". She asked me what "the truth" was and I told her it was our religion. She replied, total deadpan, "You guys are f**king nuts". It was so funny the way she said it when I remember it now. At the time I was just like, "Well you gotta believe something right..?!"
