You sound just like my old best friend. He used to be cool. Then he got a witness girlfriend. She dated him behind the scenes and manipulated him to get baptized. He's become the biggest push-over I've ever known.. and he's totally trapped. I've seen it happen to a lot of guys.

I'd say break up with this girl and let her get on with her life and you with your own, but you probably won't. Good luck with whatever you do.

who escapes more often, those born into it or adult converts?

what strikes me on this board is the number of adult converts that have left the borg, either fading out or getting df'd.

from my experience (i was born into it, 2nd generation, left before getting baptized) most of the faders or escapees were also like.

me, born into it, never really accepted it and just bowed out at the first opportunity.

A possiblity that might be skewing the survey could be that adult converts who have left don't need these boards to work out cult related issues.. maybe they have just gotten on with things easier.

i am working on an anti-apostate leaflet to deflect attention from all those pesky apostates who will be swarming at the convention tomorrow.
