E-Watchman says subliminal images in the Watchtower are real
by truthseeker ininteresting read for skeptics and believers alike.... my personal fave is the picture in the knowledge book on page 132 (i think) showing jehovah in the clouds.
if you fold the picture three ways, you see a skull in the clouds on top of a pyramid.
does watchtower literature .

In most of the congregation I've been in it hasn't been an issue. One congregation was happy enough with fishing but didn't particularly like hunting. I say 'congregation' but that's probably not right, there were a couple of elders that didn't like it, one of whom fished which didn't make any sense to me. I did hear one CO apologize to a circuit full of elders for scheduling a meeting during dear season, he told them all they'd probably shoot a big buck the next weekend. Of course, that would have been illegal.

One comment on high fences. While I don't hunt high fence myself I can see some merit in the system. For instance, there are many, many more black buck behind high fences in Texas than there are in all of India. Hunting behind those high fences supports that population, which also means it is supporting the effort not only to sustain that species but is also aiding in restoring it in India.

I've been hunting my whole life and I enjoy it, the whole process. Hunters and the money they provide are mostly responsible for the fact that there's any wildlife left in the world. It is pretty much a rule that when you have an organized hunting system, wildlife thrive, Africa is probably the best example of that. Bulldozers, plows and subsistence hunters have done more to eliminate wildlife than every sport hunter who ever lived on this planet. However, I've also learned that it is an absolute waste of time to try to reason with people that have taken an anti-hunting stance because they are for the most part driven by emotion and there's no reasoning with emotion. You can pretty much always tell what kind of people they are by their methodology, if they start out with insults and ridicule then it is an exercise in futility..

WTS Has Lost +35% of Elders in US Since 1994????
by Seeker4 inzack, on another thread, said he heard this figure from the platform at both the 2006 elders' school and his recent pioneer school:.
that there were 93,000 elders in 1994, and less than 60,000 today, in the united states.. i thought these figures deserved their own thread, as they are shocking to me, and to see if anyone else has heard anything similar.. i'll post a link to the other thread as well.

I'm another that was but isn't. I have seen a pretty severe drop in quality the last few years. Mostly lousy public speakers anymore, maybe 15% are good.

Society's claim of Matt. 24:14 being fulfilled - What it could really mean
by Jourles ini've had this thought for quite a while and wonder if fits with the recent talk about the wts claiming that matt.
24:14 has been fulfilled.
my thought was this --- in the wake of the recent cutbacks at bethel, scaling back of literature, and other cost cutting measures, could the wts be preparing the r&f for the complete or massive reduction of literature that would normally be placed with "householders?

I recently (since Denton) attended another Special Assembly Day and heard the same talk by a different Bethel speaker. He did not say one word about Matthew 24:14 or Revelation 17, he did not mention the three countries without Witnesses. In fact, he emphasized how much preaching work there was still to do and he did make one out of context remark that he was not there to prophecy about current events. So I would have to say that the guy in Denton went off on his own tangent and has probably been assigned to a dungeon somewhere.

Governing Body Going After eBay
by Gary1914 inhello everyone.. i don't if this has been posted before.
if it has i apologize, but maybe my version will add to what is already known.. my brother is a district overseer.
the society sometimes places conferences calls to do's, co's and other overseers, especially when it is something that they do not want to put in writing.

Most of the dissatisfaction is very private and only mentioned to close friends, if then, but the actual volume is quite large. It will not be that significant until it becomes more open.

I have to say that this article was particularly grotesque in its miss application of scripture, in being wholly self-serving, and in its use of misdirection. Though I usually strain to use the term 'evil' in referring to the Organization I would have to say that this particular article is border line evil.
