I liked it, maybe not as much as Omega Man but it was pretty good. Important to remember that the movie was about a somewhat wacked out, very lonely, grieving medical researcher trying to find a cure, not about some kind of end of the world survivalist "let's kill 'en all" armaments freak. (not that I have anything against them, being one myself). This is a movie about what makes people tick, not about hardware.

Since this is a wish list, in addition to my current arsenal I would like the following:
1. Winchester Model 70 in .257 Roberts
2. Winchester Model 70 in .416 Rigby
3. Browning Citori O/U 20 Gauge
4. Benelli Super Black Eagle II 12 Gauge
5. Winchester Model 70 .338 Winchester magnum
6. M1A
7. Saiga .308
8. Saiga 7.62 X 39
9 Saiga 12 Gauge
10. Barrett Model 82A1 .50
10 is fairly limiting, I didn't get to the hand guns, the .223s or the vintage .308s.

Truth is, I doubt if one in a hundred Witnesses has even heard of it. Leave it on your coffe table, who knows what might happen.

Heavy hitter, respected by many but resented by a considerably number. A few loved me but I'm not one who typically inspires much love.

For any who were raised a JW...
by rache31 indo you find that most of the ones you grew up with left?
i looked around while still active and saw numbers dwindling from my generation.
i pioneered while in late teens/early twenties and several from my class that were friends of mine left years ago.

About 70% left and I can only think of two that are really active and one of those is a complete hypocrit.

E-mail from friend alerting me to emergency instruction from GB
by Wasanelder Once inhere's a paragraph from a friend who is active.
they say it's important that we fill out this form about emergencies... poor fools.
"hi, i have been meaning to tell you that the society is telling us to fill out an emergency form that the book study conductors have and return it to them in case of an emergency.they will then give us a brochure to have that will tell us where to meet and what to have in our bags so we can grab them and leave in a hurry.

Actually, I do believe the underlying principle here is sound. People should make these kinds of preparations for emergencies. Their little check list is not bad, it's pretty basic but a good place to start and could serve a family or close circle of friends and relatives quite well.
Having said that, I'm not about to put my preparedness in the hands of the local Walmart greeter Corps. This happens to be an area where I'm very well informed, trained and equiped. I don't need Brother Dumby getting in my way though I may be willing to drag him out of the ditch if he looks like he needs it. I am somewhat curious as to their recommeded Bug Out Bag content. I suspect that it doesn't have the same coverage as mine, especially when it comes to weapons.
I also find it interesting that they, unlike many of the rank and file, are not counting on divine intervention.

Pretty sure I know who "Brother N" is and while I'll say he was a competent individual, he was also a jerk. He did know how to conduct himself around the heavy hitters which is probably what got him through this whole deal. I'll also say that the traits breed true.
