I always thought that pedophile was a label given to child molesters, in other words all the same.....

Is it possible that a child molester is NOT a pedophile?
by sir82 ini realize many here have (unfortunately) much more experience with this sort of thing than i do.
any personal insight, or direction to research material, would be appreciated.. there was a letter to all boes about 8-10 years ago, saying that if an appointed elder had any incidents of child abuse in his history, he had to step forward & admit such, so that his status as an elder could be reviewed.
none of the elders in this congregation said anything.. it was later (maybe 5 years ago) discovered that one of the elders had sexually abused his daughters some time in the 80's, before his appointment.

for some, i know the blood-issue is a touchy subject, but it's interesting to know it.
you'd be surprised especially when the case of an rh-negative mother may give birth to an rh-positive child.

Where are you on the map? New Maps
by Lady Lee inok there are so many americans on the map now i had to split you all in half.. valis was kind enough to let me place the maps on his website until i found a new home for them.. photobucket seems to be a good option - at least for now.

How many more years do you think you have left to live?

since i'm relatively healthy, don't smoke, hardly drink (2 beers a day), and if i base myself on my grandparents and parents age, i think that i should live up to anywhere between 85 and 95. which means i should have another 40 to 50 years of posting here.

I did that death clock a few years ago, answered the questions the same then as I just did. When I did this a few years ago it gave me till 2039 and today it said 2028 so I don't think that is very accurate.

I remember when I was studing with an elder. We were out in field service and the discussion of my mother came up. The elder told me that he didn't think my mother would make it to paradise because she did not go door to door. Well my mother was born with polio, she has one leg shorter than the other and it has created many other difficulties with her health.
I remember thinking at that time " who is this guy that thinks he can judge another in this manner " ?
I thought to myself only God can decide who makes it to paradise or not, and if this guy who was teaching me the religion was judging another when it was Gods only place to do so.
Now I had suffered an anyuerism in my brain and had lots of time on my hands to go door to door and one day this elder said to me " You just don't recieve Gods spirit unless you are knocking on doors " That comment made me seriously sick to my stomach. Then on the same day this elder asked me what was one thing I looked forward too in becoming one of Jehovahs witnesses ? I said "well it would be nice to find a christian woman for a wife because of how serious they held marriage. He told me that I could not and would not be approved for marriage unless I could support the wife and since I was on a disability payment each month that I was not capable of doing so.
My stomach turned so much that I could not eat my lunch that day. I did not know that I had to be approved in order to fall in love with someone. It was then that I decided to look into what I was getting involved in with this religion. It was this that took me to freeminds that led me here.
I thank my God for this place, for freeminds and for all those here that helped me get out and away from the religion. I have stated beforre that when I first came here, I was a pretty sensitive person and I took many things on a personal level, but today, thanks to JWD I have learned that I don't need to take things personal as experience tells me that I am not the only one who has went through those same emotions. Now I owe it to all those who come here as newbys that I can help them in return for the help I got.

I'm not sure if I like this thread. It made me think about how old I am and what I have to go on from my family history. My father died when he was 38 in a car crash , his mother died at 61 from lung cancer and my grandfather died when he was 72. My great grandmother on my mothers side lived to be 99 but the rest around 80. I was thinking after reading this thread and it kind of shocked me for a second that in 20 years I will be social security age and will be digging my hole about then too, maybe anyways. But if I knew how long I was going to live or any of us as far as that goes, would we not all make the changes in order to grow older ? Like diet and not smoking etc.....

some people can sure ruin a good thread, I posted my thoughts this mourning on this thread and I come back tonight to find someone was removed. Darn it I missed it. Did I understand it right that this person thinks that being gay makes them pedophiles.? Thats way wrong. I have known a few gays in my time but none were child molesters. It's sad that some people think that way.....I'll just bet that that idea came from the dubs teaching

by doodle-v inwe just got back from spending two weeks in denver, co. call us crazy (yeah i dont know what the hell we were thinking) but we decided to drive.
from seattle to denver and back is over 3,000 miles.
we had both kids and a crap load of stuff.
