Do you know where the first person you had sex with, lives now?
by free2beme ini was actually baptized in my early 20's, so i spent some time as a teen and early twenties doing things that were not witness-like.
one of those things was sex out of marriage and to be honest, i have no regrets.
i have wondered though sometimes, where is that person i shared such a landmark moment with in life.

Well I don't know a whole lot about you but I can say from experience I have left this board several times. Thought I didn't need it anymore or I got tired of rude people etc... But I came back and each time with a different attitude. And on many different aspects. So I will close by saying good luck and there are a whole lot of people here who will miss you......Remember we are always going to meet someone either here at JWD or in life in general that we are not going to like. I have learned that you got to take the good with the bad and that it's just not healthy to judge others as we all have faults....

WHAT'S NEW? DOORSTEP BIBLE STUDIES!
by stillAwitness inso i'm in service this morning and the young sister i was working with had what they call now a "doorstep bible study" .
its been encouraged by the fds that if one has a regular return visit with an interested one that one can hold a bible study by having them read one or two paragraphs out of the require brochure and ask the questions right at their doorstep.. i've never actually seen it done and boy let me tell you it was the most awkard, ridiculous thing i have ever seen!
the poor sister (who was nothing older thatn 15) is standing at the door having this grown woman read a paragraph out of the require brochure, and after having her ansewring the question and read a scripture she then then tells her she'll see her next week!

I welcome all JW's to come to my home and study the bible, I love it when I can teach them how incorrect their word is. Usually they do not come back but at least they leave with something to think about.........

Misrepresentation
by quango inmy understanding of the "big snooze" is that the essay maintains that jws have misrepresented quotes from secular sources.
is this message board not an obvious misrepresentation?
it claims to represent jehovahs witnesses (in its title)yet the vast majority of posters are anti jw and many have been expelled.

Quango,
First lets go back to when Adam and Eve were alive. God gave them the right to choose for themselves to eat from the tree of life and death or not too. That right to choose still continues to this day, so when a person comes to this board they are themselves choosing to do so and also if they choose to leave this board they have the right to do that too. No one here is putting chains on anyone to stay here as like the watchtower puts their chains on a member of the WTBS.
I think if I were you, I would stop, read, answer and ask questions because if you REALLY do love God you will find that the watchtower is leading you into a place of suffering in this life and the next. I personally hold my faith in Christ as the most valueable possession I have and I don't like it when someone tries to decieve me into something that is full of hypocrasy and deceit.
There are a lot of people here who are willing to help you clear your mind so that you can once again think on your own and I hope you will at least give that a chance for your own spirituality and personal growth with God..Good Luck in whatever you decide but remember the same as defd, he made the choice and you can do the same.............

WT article 1950 regarding Voting
by Bonnie_Clyde init must have been in the year 2000 when our circuit overseer gave a talk about voting.
i believe this same talk was given in all congregations.
it was several months after the 11-1-99 wt question from readers that stated that, "each one of jehovah's witnesses makes a decision based on his bible-trained conscience and an understanding of his responsibility to god and to the state.

What I don't understand is how a group, either faith based or private can get all the benefits that the government offers like tax free issues etc....and not support the government ? Why is the governments allowing those who are not in support of them getting all these things. Hell I would think that Bush would consider them terrorist because of their beliefs against the governments.

Watchtower will NOT accept legal responsibility
by VM44 ini posted this in another thread, but this comment from the watchtower deserves a thread of its own.
here is what the watchotwer wrote back in 1952 concerning legal liability and vaccinations.
i am sure they feel the same today, the watchtower will not assume legal liability for any misrepresentation it has made concerning blood transfusions.

Well they will just have to if a judge tells them too.

Is Christmas for Pagans?
by LittleToe ingiven that so many practises associated with christmas are blatantly christian in origin, is christmas truly for pagans?.
i know that often there are few christian connotations attributed to it nowadays, in such a secularised society, but history is on record in showing that the whole baby jesus thing is definitely a christian element.
would any true pagan today want to drink such a mixed cup?.

Actually the pagans did not create Christmas, they celebrated a holiday that worshipped the sun on Dec. 25 It was the Catholics I think that actually started the holiday Christmas. So if the Holiday is a Christian Holiday then why wouldn't a christian want to celebrate ?

Balsam,
I wonder if she knows that she will be shunned if she were to take the blood even though it is now up to their conscience.?
Thanks Gumby for that link, hey you want to go to a kingdom hall next week just to see what they say ? We can go to the next town away from us.
