I am one who has a lot of good thoughts to those who stand against the watchtower. I believe it can hurt those who are in fear of them more than the one who stands and faces them head on. At one time I would cower to those bastards but today ? It's a whole new life and I fear noone except God. They no longer have the control or any power over me. You did a great job and I applaud you for your work.

My D/f appeal meeting went amazingly, but the still want to d/f me
by jwfacts insorry how long this is but i found the meeting very exciting.
the short version is i said directly that i do not believe in the wts, feel being d/f is unfair on my jw family so asked them to just leave me alone.
it didn't work.

Another stupid blunder by the WTBTS.
by gumby inmany times the wtbts are pretty good at changing poilicy without looking to obvious to the r&f as being sneaky and having a motive behind their changes.
normally they can even justify their change as scriptural to the unwary.
however, when they changed the baptismal questions, it was more obvious that there was "motive" behind the change and some exited the group because of the change.. this thread is for those who have never heard of the change before and were not aware of the current stance the wtbts has taken regarding baptism.

Lurkers and JW apologists: Please read this experience and consider.
by ozziepost init was on another thread (jwfacts' one about his jc meeting) that i posted a personal experience and it occurred to me, that although it is well behind me and i don't dwell on it (much!
), it may be of some help to those who visit here and are unsure what they think about their jw beliefs.. i wrote:.
mrs ozzie and i agreed to have a representative from bethel come to visit us as a friend.

Do you think that the mentally challenged are held accountable for their sin or do they have a free passage. ?

What if religion was simple, would it be enough for you?
by free2beme ini was thinking today, what if religion was simple, would it be enough for you?
what if someone said, "god does not expect a church or congregation, or even that you read from a certain book each day.
all god wants is that you treat each other with kindness, have self respect for your body and those you share this world with you and ask that you simply be thankful for this life by enjoying it and the world you live in.

I don't feel that I need religion. It is faith we are required to have. Remember Christ saying "one faith, one baptism" ? Religion is something created by man, faith is something created by Christ. I doo however go to church once in awhile and it gives me that little punch in the butt to remember to keep the faith. So in some ways church is not a bad place to be but at the same time I don't think it is a requirement for salvation.

Do you hug and kiss your pets?
by Dimples ini love my cats as if they were my own children.
i was there when they were born and even cut one of the umbilical cords.
they are part of my family and yes, i do pick them up, hug them and kiss them everyday.

My dog once ate some other dog's sh*t and I am thinking that was because there was still some morsel of food in there. I know, totally gross, but I think that proves the fact that my dog's mouth is not cleaner than mine own.
LOL that was funny but so true. I hug my cats and I will kiss them on the top of their heads but no licking, that is gross. My cats are indoor only cats (no claws) so I don't have to worry to much.

So if a person is mentally challenged but can understand what , why and who they are being baptised for, shouldn't they also be considered for baptism ? Or are they like the little children who according to Christ they already have the gift or promise ?

I have a nephew who was adopted by my JW mother when he was three years old. He is now in his mid twenties. He has lived by the JW laws but yet they have not baptised him. My nephew is mentally challenged and also legally blind with the mind of a seven or eight year old. He is very capable of understanding but yet they will not except him for baptism. I am sure that he would except baptism if it were offered but they will not do that.
I have seen others in worse condition than my nephew but they had been baptised. I always understood that if you had an understanding of their doctrine it made you eligible to be baptised. I also know that the WBTS will go to great lengths to get their numbers up. This is so sad.
Someone stated earlier that it would be discriminative to turn away followers from baptism, It's not really as the society does it all the time.
