I had home baked bread with cheese for dinner. I cook for a living, so I'm not much into cooking at home at all, but I can't eat bread from the store, yuck. I always bake my own.

I always thought that the WTS made more enemies on that day (except for New Years Day when they woke up the overdrinkers and interrupted the footbal fans) than friends.
Good point!

If you visited one of the elders in my old hall, the first thing you'd notice is his well - stocked drinks cabinet, apart from during co visits, when we used to have field service meetings there. The drinks seemed to disappear then, for some reason, and be replaced by watchtower and awake bound volumes.
OMG, that musta been one heck of a job to move that stuff around all the time.

Something I want to tell you apostates
by LeftBehind ini want you to know that you have destroyed a family because of your lies about jehovah and his organization.
a family member went apostate and has turned his back on jehovah.
he told us he is never coming back and i know he went and visited internet sites.

LB, being a JW or not being a JW should be a personal choice which does not affect the whole family. If a family is ripped apart because someone decides to stop being a JW, then there is something horribly wrong with the picture. How does the word "control" sound?
I feel for you, I really do.

What's the word?
by bagpuss inif you could sum up your time in the borg with just one word, what would it be and why?.
for me it would be guilt.
guilt about not doing enough ministry, not enough study, doing too much secular work, the list seems endless.on the odd occasions i felt i'd done quite well you can bet we'd have a talk saying more, more more!.

guilt is the first word which comes to mind here as well.

Will the new system be uncrowded?
by M.J. ini was talking to an elder yesterday about how enjoyable it is to get away from civilization in remote wilderness areas, unlike the circus you see at places like yosemite natl.
park in california.
with dreamy eyes he mentioned how great it will be in the "new system", when "we can enjoy uncrowded conditions.".

Will the new system be uncrowded?
hmm.. will I find enough ways to spend my 10 million dollars?
See, I think I have more chance of winning 10 million dollars, than seeing a new system.
But serious.. a JW told me once that there is more than enough space on earth to accomodate everyone who has ever lived, because people only occupy a small portion of the earth, as other areas like deserts and the rain forest and such are no good places to live right now, but in the "new system" the paradise will be all over and nature's conditions will make it possible for people to live everywhere. I guess that would make sense, but anyone can make up a fairy tale.

Is there any hope of you coming back to Jehovah?
by LeftBehind inmy brother is a self proclaimed apostate.
i see now that there is a wide variety of posters here.
so to those that have left the witnesses what would it take to get you back?
-

LB, in my humble opinion.. when a person who is close to you leaves the org. the least likely way to get them to come back is to shun them, but that is what usually happens.
