i was watching dr. phil yesterday and they had these women on there who have their daughters entered in beauty pagent contests looking like miniture hookers.

i was stunned when i saw pictures of the one 8 year old girl: more make-up than tammy faye baker, hair pieces, false teeth, fake tan and totally slutty outfits.

she looked like a plastic barbie.

How many raised as a JW have a hard time remembering holidays?

i'm asking this because i found myself in an bad spot monday night.

my daughter is almost three and goes to a little preschool thing each day.

they were to have a valentine's day party on tuesday, for which i was to bring fruit, etc.

I was only in for 11 years and I had a very hard time getting back into the swing of remembering everyone's birthdays. I'm late on another one, as a matter of fact. Back when I was fully immersed in dubdom I used to go to work on my birthday and not even remember it.

You would think because I wasn't raised in the religion it would be easy to go back to celebrating, but it really was very difficult for the first year.

Is it standard practice for the elders to send JC invites by certified mail? If so, they would have known that you hadn't recieved (or signed for) the 3 letters. I'm surprised they showed up in person to let you know.

When we were going through all that our phone rang for weeks (caller id always said it was a private caller) so we just never answered. No one physically came to let us know when our announcement was-not that I would have answered the door anyway. Pompous jerks.

Do JWs Consider You To Be An "Apostate"?

we all know that our simply being here is considered an act of apostasy by witnesses.

whether they know you frequent such boards or not, are you considered an "apostate" by the witnesses?

Oh, most definitely. I am the number one apostate in this small town. You should see the absolute look of fear come into the dubs' eyes when they run into me. The elders are still seething because I will not take off my Silent Lambs/FreeMinds sticker off our mailbox.
