Thanks Imfreeatlast. I'm so glad you got your family out. Your method sounds really good. Shame it's too late for me to try it. Perhaps I'll think of a way to modify your method and make it work in my case.

More on how I got my family out.
by ImFreeatlast insorry for the delay in posting back all, now that im a worldly materialistic person work keeps me busy j. due to all the welcoming comments and the requests from my first post (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/7/157384/1.ashx) i thought i would elaborate on how some of the ways i got my family out the way i did.
(i will try and keep this reasonably short j).
because i had already decided just after we got married that i didnt believe the crap anymore i started fading straight away, and i almost made a huge mistake, i was getting on quite well with an elder at the time and mentioned to him that i was a bit disillusioned with it all.

I joined Weight Watchers today!
by Princess Daisy Boo ini am a bit of a yo yo dieter - i have been dieting ever since i was a teenager, and my role model for this was my mom of course.
in fact one of my very early memories of going shopping with mom and her buying a diet shake mix.
well... i have a little girl who is almost three and i have been thinking about things and i really need to break this cycle of crash diets, losing 5 kgs and picking up 10 once i have lost motivation.

Noontide,
I have to say I'm proud of you. What you did took courage. Standing up for your beliefs and thoughts in the face of strong opposition is not easy. Good for you.
Terry's post was right on.
Also, use the WTCD and pull some quotes out about researching your religion to make sure what you believe is true. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Announcement: They Clapped!

i don't know how to interpret that.. .

I understand your points mightyone.
Would you say the Society knows that the friends receive their words in the manner you describe? If so, should they be more careful about how they phrase things so the sheep don't unnecessarily burden themselves?
or
Is there a possibility that the Society knows how the friends receive their words and therefore the words are measured carefully in order to create the desired reaction?

What's next? JWD prophets/prophetesses?
by Gayle ini know it was just announced yesterday about the bs change to cbs (congregation bible study) merging soon with tms & sm.
but that's old news to us (hee-hee).
what your speculation of the next change?

It's been posted elsewhere by someone else but:
Getting rid of Circuit Overseers.
A local elder could be deputized to visit local congregations and trains to report the goings on to headquarters.
There is already a position called City Overseer. The City Overseer could extend his responsibilities to actually visit the local congregations under his jurisdiction.
This would wipe out an entire layer of middle management - a layer that could be fertile for apostasy.

What happens to the numbered 'talks' then?
by carla ini'm always confused about the 'talks' you guys are always talking about.
will there still be #4's and so on after the new arrangement?
just shorter?
-

I think they'll cut out the sisters talks. I can't wait to find out.
Probably cut out the speech counsel point talk too. It's new and isn't that great anyway. I think it would be tough to shorten a 5 minute talk - they'll delete some of them instead.
For the SM, they can just shorten everyone's parts some.

How is everything? I imagine your wife is still as active as ever?
Has your situation changed with the hall or are they still leaving you alone?
How is the business you were started doing?

Another poster said that the Circuit Overseers will be the next to go. I believe he's right.
I would imagine that sometime in '09 or '10 the COs will be replaced by local elders.
For decades there have been local elders who have the position of City Overseer, why not extend the responsibility of that position to cover actually visiting the congregations within the his jurisdiction? He could be trained relatively easily to fill in reports and beat the friends at multiple halls.
This would save the WTS tons of money. It would be an entire layer of middle management, ripe for apostasy, cut out.
