Isn't it awful that when someone needs help the most they get treated the worst by witnesses.
A religion that must tear you down and make you miserable in order for you to "come back" is not a religion, it's a cult.
I'm truly sorry you're going through this. Just remember that there are a lot of other people out there who know what you're going through and how tough it is. Feel free to vent here anytime.
Another poster recommended making new friends. That sounds like a great idea.
I know you're disfellowshipped but I don't know how much of the witness teachings you reject or accept. So, if you have any lingering doubts about the WT being right you should read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz and you could do research on points that have bothered you in the past.
Sometimes the pain of being shunned can be eased by knowing for certain that the shunners are wrong in their beliefs and wrong for shunning you. It isn't Christlike to shun.
Good luck and I wish you the best.

short experience about my uber JW family and neighborhood block party
by cult classic inshe has been out in field service with her family and goes on to tell me of all the spiritual activities they have planned for the fall.
all of her children are homeschooled and pioneering.
she actually said, "well maybe i will send them over, but they have rehearsal for the special assembly day program.

Also, they may be trying to win you back by being friendly, kind and polite. Showing you that as a strong witness you can still have fun.
But, those types of plans often backfire because the kids will actually be having the time of their lives with regular people and regular fun.
Congratulations.

In the class reunion bio she wrote that she still volunteers her time to Watchtower. I gues they are heavily involved. Perhaps fighting humanitarian battles for the Watchtower as outside reps.

A family member saved!!!!! Alright!!!! That is fantastic news. I know what you mean about being sick to your stomach when our children go to the meetings. You held in there and didn't shun and now you are reaping the rewards. Congratulations to both you and your son!!!

Every situation is different. I'm glad you'll be free and I hope you are cautious about letting your son hang out with your parents.
I also know how dificult it can be when family shun you and you feel the pressure of those you use to be friends with in the congregation condemning you.
Hang in there and continue to grow as a person; making new friends and having new experiences.
Good luck!

Wow, this bit of info surprised even me!!!
by LeKook ini just spoke to a witness friend (has been a witness 25+ years), who said that the elders in her congregation told her that witnesses had better be prepared to begin going door to door, not to announce "good news", but to denounce people who refuse to accept "the trvth".
has anyone else heard about this?
i thought it was a joke at first, but she said no, that's where the elders told her things were headed.

What developments are yet in store for the preaching work? The siege of Jericho, recorded in the book of Joshua, provides an illustration. Recall that just before God destroyed Jericho, the Israelites were instructed to march around the city once a day for six days. On the seventh day, however, there was to be a marked increase in their activity. Jehovah told Joshua: “You should march round the city seven times and the priests should blow the horns. And it must occur that when they sound with the horn of the ram, . . . all the people should shout a great war cry; and the wall of the city must fall down flat.” (Josh. 6:2-5) It is possible that there will be a similar expansion of our preaching activity. No doubt, by the time of the destruction of the present system of things, we will have seen the greatest witness to God’s name and Kingdom in the history of this world.

WTBTS Approves of Admitted Pedophiles Serving as Elders!
by 00DAD inapparently it's now ok for known child abusers to be recommended as elders as long as the "sin" was years in the past: .
"for example, the sin may involve past child abuse, and this would likely disqualify him for years.
" - shepherd the flock of god, p. 38 (2010).
