When did the Watchtower start opposing evolution with respect to animals?
by slimboyfat inthe photo-drama of creation (1912) says that god directed the evolution of animals into their current "fixed" forms, but that humans were created directed.
the divine plan of the ages said the same thing.
(various editions late 1800s to early 1900s) the 1898 booklet on evolution opposes the evolution of man but doesn't discuss animal evolution.

Are there any references in current WT literature about micro-evolution or do they just talk about specific animals and how they've adapted to their environment? -

I'm really sorry to hear this GTTM. My situation isn't nearly to the point yours is but my wife hasn't had to face the fact that I'm apostate because we don't discuss it. I faded a long time ago.
I don't think you should feel it necessary to sleep on the couch and avoid most of the household rooms because she is not willing to allow you to be your own person. You have a right to your personal beliefs and so does she. Neither of you should punish the other for personal beliefs. It's my opinion that you feeling uncomfortable and avoiding her around the house and in the bed won't make things better, they just stress you out. Perhaps you should try a different tactic? Maybe you should make dinner and tell everyone, including her, it's time to eat and have the kids help set the table. If she doesn't come or doesn't speak during dinner you and the kids have a conversation and talk and just go on with your normal lives as best as possible.
That's just my advice but I don't know the details of your situation and I know it's so so so hard being in a house where you don't feel wanted.

What really bugs me is that in all likelihood those posters are expressing very similar thoughts to my wife.
As the kids and I talk about various news subjects or school projects she is probably thinking those same things.

Mobile Hotspot - JWFACTS.COM - Assembly & Conventions
by thedepressedsoul inhere is an idea i tested.
works at both assemblies and conventions.
i have noticed at the last convention and at my last assembly that when i opened up my wifi setting, tons of hotspots came up for people tethering their tablets to their smart phones.

I've used a tethering app before when we were on a trip. everyone was able to use my unlimited data. No one could see my actual device or anything on it or even tell where I was. It was just a wifi signal that they latched onto. I could tell how many were using it but not their IP or anything device specific for them.
the password for the assemblies could always be Ray_Franz. That way apostates or posters here or people who gossip about what they read here would know the password and you could tell how many devices were latched onto your wifi signal and know that they knew the password...
No one will look around an assembly or convention the same way again.

"Today we are probably living in the most peaceful time in our species existence"
by Splash insteven pinker charts the decline of violence from biblical times to the present, and argues that, though it may seem illogical and even obscene, given iraq and darfur, we are living in the most peaceful time in our species' existence.. http://www.ted.com/talks/steven_pinker_on_the_myth_of_violence.

This was really interesting. I am going to have my kids watch this TED talk. They already watch some of them in school so they're familiar with the format. -

If the WTS starts telling people to turn off wifi at the meetings won't the dubs have to use their data plans? I don't know about most dubs but around my area most don't have unlimited high speed data anymore. That might make some dubs mad.
I love the idea of publishing a cryptic message like Apostate meeting 1pm by only using a wifi name. Is there any way a person could be identified besides just walking around and checking signal strength?

Neglect of Adolescents by the WTBTS - Excellent Article
by Tornintwo ini have been thinking a lot about the lack of support, judgement and criticism of teenagers in the organisation.
i am dealing with the fallout of these policies with my two adolescents...i found this excellent article this morning which is worth a read for anyone interested in this topic - see the links below but first i also wanted to add my own bugbear, forgive the rant: .
a key factor which isn't mentioned in the article is the 'bad association' rule and it's extended application.

Great post tornintwo. Although I've noticed lately that you may not be as torn as you once were. :)

My brother-in-law just graduated PSS
by Frazzled UBM inso i was scrolling down facebook and i saw that my brother-in-law was getting lots of likes and congrats (including sadly from my wife) for graduating pss.
initially i thought peter pan (he is incredibly immature for a 23 year old) had gone against character and completed some sort of educational or vocational course until i found that pss stood for pioneer service school.
i was tempted to comment how sad this was but instead commented that "no matter how much you do they will always make you feel like it is not enough".

I'd freak out if my wife were giving my hard earned money away to support a pioneer. You're a better man than I am. -

I thought this thread was interesting just because of the fact that law firms are seeing potential in suing the society. Whether that happens now or a couple years from now it will happen and hopefully it will cost the society a ton of money and help the victims who truly need it.
