Well, I hope he and his wife get help and that it wakes them up. What a great turn of events that would be. -

Talk on "Reaching Out"-Only What BOE Thinks Matters
by Simon Templar infor the “living as christians” section of the workbook, “are you reaching out?” talk (15 min), the bethelite gave this talk at the meeting.
he totally departed from the subject matter which is the watchtower of september 15, 2014, pages 3-6. he was so far off the reservation, it wasn't funny.
here are a few highlights of what was said: 1) if any brother asked why they haven’t been appointed, and wants to know if there is a problem or condition that exists, that brother is too “presumptuous” and therefore, can’t be used.

Simon I was so excited to read your op. You just never know what will really upset someone and get them to think. Hopefully she continues thinking and eventually you are free.
I hope my wife has a moment like this one day.

LOOK! Something new and shiny!
by stuckinarut2 inisn't it amazing just how easily distracted the average witness is?.
with the flood of stuff being produced and uploaded on the website, from embarrassing corny videos and songs, to music for kids, to cartoons etc, the average witness has no time to actually stop and think about the actual doctrines or facts about the organisation.
nor the past, nor the scandals being exposed by real news outlets and media.

ttdtt, from my experience you are totally right that not many witnesses can explain their teachings anymore. My own wife can't really explain the teachings and isn't even sure what the current beliefs are in many cases. I won't go into detail but let me say that recently my wife had to ask me - ASK ME - what she her beliefs were on a certain subject (meaning what was the correct witness stance)!!! I politely told her the WTS view and she was like 'oh ok' and we moved on. Plain weird. -

Overlapping Generation
by pandorasbox1914 inthe september 2015 broadcast had david splane explain matthew 24:34 “truly, i say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place”.
his explanation of this scripture was by means of a chart to indicate an overlapping generation.. .
no scripture was used to show the overlapping generation concept, and as a result it makes no sense.. to illustrate how crazy this concept is, look at the lyrics of the song my generation.. my generation.

The fact that my wife believes this and tries to teach it to others in her rare field service outings amazes me. I can't imagine how insane anyone but an indoctrinated person would think this teaching is.
I would laugh if the whole damn thing wasn't so painful

Sir82, I know your question was rhetorical but it's probably the same reason why a lot of dubs in industrialized nations drive nice cars, live in nice homes and have nice clothes.
Being a witness makes them feel better than everyone else because they feel superior in their knowledge of world events but economically they like to blend in.
just my 2 cents.

Just handed in my Disassociation letter
by Thirteenth tribe intonight my dl was posted by hand by my husband (a worldly guy).
i had the luxury of being at work distracted whilst he posted it.
i have been baptised for just over 2 years and studied since 2010. i couldn't take it anymore, not just the zealous dislike/disgust for 'people in the world' (this includes my husband and 99% of my family btw) but the obvious.... the investigations into child sexual abuse.

Welcome Thirteenth Tribe! I am so glad you are free and posted to let us know about it. It's great you won't lose family but actually gain a better relationship with them instead. -

Do not Disassociate, Anull your baptism
by jwfacts ini am now a jedi, so trust me on this.. .
why dis-associate, you are just playing by the wts rules?
how can you dis-associate anyway, you never thought you were baptised as a watchtower society member, you thought your dedication was to god, so why formally disassociate from something you did not formally join?

Finding love as a witness
by RawrSaysTheLion inhi i'm new.. i'm going on 2yrs as a baptized witness although i've just received a reproval on the grounds of living with a wordly man unmarried for 6 months.
long story short it ended messy and i ran straight back to the witnesses because i do love jehovah and i missed my family.
my issues were only with the actual organization.. i desperately want to find someone to share my world with but i feel like i'm too tainted to be loved by anyone worthy in the truth and my morals are to high to love another boy from the world.

Welcome Rawr, glad you posted. You will get lots of advice here but it's really up to you to look at it and really think it over. Sometimes what is familiar to us isn't always the best or right thing. I know a lot of non-witness people who would be considered moral and I know a lot that wouldn't, same goes for those in the local congregation and circuit. In my experience witnesses are just a bit better at hiding their true feelings/actions due to the potential of not just losing a mate in divorce but being disfellowshipped and losing pretty much everyone they know.
I hope you take the time to review jwfacts.com and think about what jwfacts the poster said about following rules and regulations making us similar to the Pharisees.
I'm really sorry you're so stressed out right now and I wish you all the best. Please keep up posted on how things go.
