I've seen some threads here on the DCs this year but I don't remember reading about a resolution that may have been passed. I saw this on another discussion board and have no idea if it's accurate or not. It is posted that this occurred on Sunday during the last talk.
"We the FADS have solemly resolved and determined to do the following, given the nearness of our deliverance:
1. We are determined to intensify our preaching activity.
2. To live up to our dedication to Jehovah and give him exclusive devotion.
3. To follow Jesus' example closely and be no part of the world.
4. To manifest our loyalty to Jehovah and Jesus and not compromise Bible principles.
5. Not get involved in interfaith movements.
6. Remain subject to superior authorities but NOT get involved in political issues.
7. Be determined to resist spirit of the world; not getting involved in chat rooms, Materialism, Entertainment, Drunkenness, Pornography."
Does anyone who attended have this in their notes?

WTS says no confession to men necessary
by TheListener ini ran across this the other day and it caught my eye.. w85 12/1 pp.
6-7 righteousness before god
neither catholic nor protestant "justification".

Confession it was while I was lurking that I read your posts on confession. It never occurred to me that the WTS method was crap. You helped open my eyes on the subject and I still can't believe how blinded I was.
So, when I ran across this 1985 WT article I wanted to flag it for others here. This is one of those articles that it's good to have in a file somewhere. You never know when a loved one or friend will be looking for information.

Whats up with Witnesses being allowed to VOTE now?
by runningrussianboy ini read somewhere that jw's can vote now?
it was in a kingdom ministry a few years back.
i remember being told that voting for anything but jehovah was a sin.

From what I understand most of the friends got the right WTS impression from the article. You can go into the polling booth if you're HAVE to and what you do in there is between you and God. But, you better just stand there and not pull any levers or mark any computer screens.
For those who didn't get the right WTS impression they may not get DF'd but you can be sure they'll be watched and counseled.
I'm not positive but since Nov. 99 I haven't seen anything that says voting is wrong but I have seen life experiences where the individuals did everything possible to avoid voting because they felt is was wrong. You get the point - good christians don't vote, but it's up to your conscience.

Wow, you've got a wide variety of responses so far. That's good. The more perspectives you received the better thought out your plan will be.
If you're going to stick with this for the long haul then I suggest you stop visiting websites like this and reading anything against the society's viewpoint on matters. I also suggest that you don't research any biblical information too deeply. I say this because the more you learn about the WTS hypocrisy and distortions the angrier and more frustrated you will become - it's difficult to be a good witness while being frustrated and angry about the witness teachings. Your wife will notice that your heart isn't in it. Also, have a plan for field ministry. After I realized how messed up things were in good conscience I couldn't bring people into the truth. My plan for service was to read a scripture and place a tract that discussed what Jehovah's wintesses believe. I let the society's weird beliefs push people away all on their own. I accomplished field ministry but didn't actually accomplish anything benefiting the society. Of course, this was a point of contention between my wife and I.
If you have children, like I do, then watching them have to follow the frustrating and maddening rules about holidays, birthdays and etc. can be excrutiatingly painful. I realized that if I didn't stop soon my children would be indoctrinated and lost to me forever. By me biting the bullet while they're still young I have a chance to save them for a life of slavery to a publishing company and a task master god.
The advice many gave seems valid to me. Take your time, show your wife that you're a good person and that even without the WTS in your life you love her and will be a good regular person. You don't have to be a drug using, fornicating, cussing slob. Well, you can be if you want but that won't get you anywhere with your wife.
Good luck man.
And I know you need one right about now sooooo (((((((((((((((((((((((big manly bear hug))))))))))))))))))))))))) hang in there.

Whatever you do, remember that you have a right to be happy. Sometimes our long-term happiness comes with short-term sadness and sometimes not. Don't give your life away to please others.
I understand the situation you're in. My wife didn't run to the elders but my marriage isn't what it used to be. I faded for over 3 years before I stopped going to meetings. I've been called every name in the book and treated with complete disrespect by my family. I continued to state "who has the Christ-like personality again?"
In the end it worked out, but only because my wife allowed it to. You must know your wife and whether or not she'll every allow you to have your own happiness while remaining happily married to her. Some mates refuse this. I hate to see your marriage end when it could be saved but I also hate to see you put years and years into a relationship that will never allow you to be yourself.
Feel free to pm me.

July KM for USA: Get ready, here come the ex-Bethelites!
by sir82 intext of article on page 3 of the usa kingdom ministry for july:.
title: they have set an example of faithfulness.
the year 1937 witnessed the beginning of a new avenue of full-time service--the special pioneer activitiy.

If the COs show any favoritism to these special pioneers or any ex-bethelites serving on the body of elders the local elders will become extremely jealous. Oh not at first, but give it a few months, perhaps a Circuit Assembly or Special Assembly Day or District Convention where these brothers begin getting all the good parts and become the department heads of all the powerful departments.
It will not take very much to create quite a stir in the congregations.
I've said it before and I'll say it again (others have too) - the WTS is in a no win situation on this. Give the ex-bethelites special treatment in any way and you risk upsetting the local congregations. Don't give them special treatment in any way and you risk upsetting the ex-bethelites.
Either way if the congregations are paying for the ex-bethelites in their midst they are going to be sending less to HQ for the bethelites out of their midst. Donations will drop further. Many might reason 'why, if they're sending people home they probably need less money to get things done. I'll use my money to help brother and sister xxx who are home from bethel now.'

Welcome Ass.
OK ok I know that wasn't right.
Welcome Balaam's Ass. or BA.
I look forward to your posts. As far as documents go what is boring and mundane to you is exciting and new to us. Perhaps you can work something out with reexamine.org 'cause they have a lot of documentation already.
Good luck with your family.
