I've seen some threads here on the DCs this year but I don't remember reading about a resolution that may have been passed. I saw this on another discussion board and have no idea if it's accurate or not. It is posted that this occurred on Sunday during the last talk.

"We the FADS have solemly resolved and determined to do the following, given the nearness of our deliverance:

    1. We are determined to intensify our preaching activity.

    2. To live up to our dedication to Jehovah and give him exclusive devotion.

    3. To follow Jesus' example closely and be no part of the world.

    4. To manifest our loyalty to Jehovah and Jesus and not compromise Bible principles.

    5. Not get involved in interfaith movements.

    6. Remain subject to superior authorities but NOT get involved in political issues.

    7. Be determined to resist spirit of the world; not getting involved in chat rooms, Materialism, Entertainment, Drunkenness, Pornography."

Does anyone who attended have this in their notes?

Yes, they are doing the resolution: several posters have mentioned it in their reports.

That's a new twist - the Governing Body are making a public promise not to get involved in politics? Anything to do with the UN fiasco? Usually it is the ordinary publishers who are made to promise to be good little boys and girls and such like...

I smell a cover-up for the Bethel layoff.

not getting involved in chat rooms....Entertainment,

I would like to know the exact wording of the resolution, as I am sure that every line has been strategically worded. In particular, did they use the exact phrases chat rooms and entertainment? and how exactly were these words framed i.e. worldly chat rooms of just chat rooms in general?

It almost seems as if they are trying to renew their own version of a mission statement...sort of like a backhanded apology.

LOL! They're adopting another resolution. RICH.

For years, mostly during the 20's and 30's, "adopting" a "resolution" was a sure-fire way to get people motivated, as communication did not travel as quickly as it does today. Imagine waiting for your 8 day assembly in Cedar Point OH and hearing this DAMNING resolution as proof that God is with you and you alone. Nowadays it means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

The verbiage that they choose was always something meant to be overwelming to "bears of little brains." They used big and important sounding words, always delivered in a volume close-to-yelling, meant to whip JWs into a frenzy. Another hallmark of their meaningless resolutions is that they use run-on sentences to confuse the issues.

"BROTHERS TODAY THE FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE CLASS ANNOUNCES A RESOLUTION THAT WE ARE DETERMINED TO REVEAL THE HARLOT, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE WORLD EMPIRE OF FALSE RELIGION AS NONE OTHER THAN CHRISTENDOM!!!! AS DECLARED THROUGH THE WORLDWIDE PREACHING WORK!!!!!"

To the JWs who are accepting and passing these life-or death resolutions, it seems so important. To the rest of the world, it doesn't matter one whit what they adopt, because they are an ineffective and offensive little cult!

Perhaps Blondie could post some of their past "Resolutions" to see whether or not they have had an impact on the world around them.

My educated guess is that they have not. LOL.

past "Resolutions" to see whether or not they have had an impact on the world around them

    You're kidding, right?

Don't you remember that the "7 bowls of God's wrath", as mentioned in Revelation, were the 7 resolutions passed from 1922 - 1928 at the assemblies? It's right there in the "Revelation" book!

Imagine, all those 1800+ years that the scattered "true Christians" were wondering & waiting for "new light" on just what exactly John meant...thru the dark ages, middle ages, renaissance, enlightenment....all the time a mystery...and it was revealed at Cedar Point, Ohio! Praise Jah!

It is of course completely unknown to every single member of the 6 million + JWs on earth today what exactly was said in those resolutions (let alone the 6.6 billion people on the planet)...but that doesn't matter. It is simply sufficient to know that yes, some words were spoken in the form of a resolution, and that irrefutably fulfilled Bible prophecy!

Case closed, slam dunk, next question, step aside please!
