There will be some disciplining going on after the international conventions are over. There's no way the CO and his GB bosses will appreciate any of this.

Something Big is Coming...
by notsurewheretogo inthe annual meeting of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses will be in october 2014.. .. in november 2013, just after the last one they published this now famous statement in the 15th of november 2013 watchtower page 16 paragraph 17 says:.
"at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".

I don't believe they'll stop focusing on the door to door work. It's the perfect way to keep members busy and to create a measuring stick for each dub to use against each other. Its the perfect system of meaningless busy work.
Plus, with the cart witnessing there is a whole new level of spirituality to attain to so you can have the privilege of standing quietly by the cart.

Roll call of those of us stuck in for our spouse or whos spouse is still in!
by BU2B ini just wanted to get a feel for how many here have awakened to ttatt but are still carrying on some jw activities to pacify them and keep the peace.
also trying to hear from those who have left, but whose spouse has stayed in the wt and in the marriage.. for me it comes down to my own mental anguish.
i am mentally tortured by attending the meetings, yet i feel compelled to because my wife would kill me with her personality if i had her drag 2 small girls by herself there.

Wife and I both raised in dubs. I'm out she's still in. We have kids. They are free but I really hope they stay that way as they age.

Beards......the CO allowed this one!
by punkofnice ina minny man in a local congregation has a beard...he was bullied by the elders to remove it.. then the co came along and told the elders to allow him to keep his beard.
(not as the result of any skin condition or anything).. i kid you not!!!.
what do you make of that?.
-
TheListener
I've seen it before. But only when the person with the beard has no congregation responsibilities.

Another cheery video for the kids on jw.dork

Wow! Could they use the word Jehovah a few more times in these videos? What I got out of the video series is that instead of actually teaching your children different lessons just tell them that Jehovah will be mad at them or won't be their friend if they don't keep their room clean or whatever.
These videos struck me as very high-control-religous like videos. Aimed at indoctrination not instruction.

Conventions
by free2beme inas the conventions are in full swing, and my relatives who are still in make a point to tell me what their vacation will include.
i am reminded of a couple of things about conventions i do not normally think about.. one, the people who would protest the conventions.
some with bags on their head, others just holding signs.
-

I remember seeing protesters. I always thought they were mean, angry and hatefilled people with no respect for God.
I was a total jackass! If I had been an actual christian perhaps I would have given them and their information more respect and saved myself years of heartache.

I Have A Problem With the Shepherding Kids article on Cedars Blog
by SanLuisObispoTruthSeeker ingo ahead and rip me to shredds, been in the elder's backroom sooo many times i'am use to it.. "cedar's blog" is usually really good, but i see a error being created here:.
"this particular article overtly urges parents to gain access to the minds of their children in order to influence their life decisions.... frequently talking with your children gives you greater access to their thoughts and feelings.
that, in turn, will help you to have a greater influence on the decisions they make in life.

Why the Clean out of top Management
by Poztate init has been commented here that "soon" the do's will be history.
the co level will be "retired" at age 70 and the latest development was that the cobe can not serve after age 80. it would seem that there is a "cull" of top management.
in secular companys that would signal a radical change of directions ???.

Perhaps the long term plan is to only have one elder in each congregation, sort of like going back to the days of the congregation servant. The newly unappointed elders would be assistants to the congregation servant - just like the old days before 1972.
Since the over 80s elders won't be eligible for this position it would fall to a younger more zealous brother than a feisty old older one.
This way the CO would only have to control one person, discipline or replace one elder per congregation if they didn't tow the line.
