Does the GB also do Fieldservice?
by 1tMakesNoSence inthe wt study of may stated that no one is exempt from doing fieldservice.does that mean the gb also does fieldservice?and dont give me any if that "no they only give us insrtuction bullshit" because that would mean not everything applies to everyone, and thats never the case in the jw organisation!

Yes. I know from personal experience. But, they aren't very good at the door. Well, that is for GB 1.0 anyway. Not sure about the new kids on the block. -

Canada Branch Finances - What's Going On?
by berrygerry inan update on the canada branch hasn't been made (i think).. year-over-year, canada's equity decreased by 11 million in 2012, 17 million in 2013.. however, the 2014 report shows a huge increase (20 million) in the cost of "purchased supplies.
" with the shrinkage of the mags, and the push to online, how the heck did this go from 39 million to 58 million?.
even with this number, the equity in 2014 went down by a staggering 56 million.. what the heck is going on?.

So Brooklyn (Warwick) is not only taking all the US congregations money but also the foreign branches as well...
Their new push into slickly produced videos and fancy graphics better pay off big time if they are going to recoup their investment.

I hope my wife hears an experience similar to this at her RC. Just maybe it will remind her of the scientology movie we watched. -

The Reason Why Jehovah's Witnesses Will Never Prosper Is The Children
by minimus ini believe that the religion will remain stagnant due to their achilles heel, the kids, the children, that next generation.. most of them really don't wa t to be in the religion.
the parents may have tried everything within their power to make the kids love jehovah but we all know you can't force someone to love you and you can't make a grown person stay in a relationship or situation if they really don't want to be there..

A lot of teens don't really want to be associated with a group that is considered weird and made fun of by the mainstream. When the witness teens run into that sort of information online it must be embarrassing at first and hopefully eye opening in the end. -

Splash, the announcement of the speaker's rank started years ago. It's all about understanding how important the speaker is and how you can do more to be important too. -

The society had a form of sunday school many many years ago. They abandoned it in part because they wanted to the families to attend all the meetings together. Blondie or someone may have the references to it.
I agree with the poster who said that a few years ago I would have laughed at the idea of them having a sunday school or something similar. Now, I could definitely see it happening. But, I think that the more they get into the lives of the children the more it will backfire as the kids age.
I just watched a few minutes of the 2015 RC program on another thread and can't imagine an intelligent motivated teenager hanging around that crap too long. The only reason I could see for a teenager to stay in is because the majority of their friends and parents are in and it's all they know. That's probably why college is so looked down on. It opens the kids up to new experiences and new friends and that gives them the strength to leave the WTS.

Governing Body
by Daym123 inhello,.
i am currently in a discussion with a jw about the governing body.. i have read alot of articles regarding it, however whenever i bring up what i have read, i am refuted with scripture, such as acts 15, where they say there was a governing body, who sent out elders and men etc.. does anyone have a website that i may not know of, that has answers to what they refute with?
or any help here or good thought provoking questions to respond with would be much appreciated.. thank you kindly.

Daym, one thing that helped me was learning that Paul and his companions were sent out from Antioch and not Jerusalem. They operated as separate churches for a lot of things. There is good research on the net about the first century christians not being centralized. I also believe, but may be mistaken, that Leolaia (an older poster here) covered this very well a few years ago. If you can find her old posts (or someone elses) you may get the help you need. -

It took me longer to read it because I hid it in my car trunk and read it when I would pull over to a parking lot for a little bit each day on my way home from work. I was scared stiff that someone from the hall would see me. That book really helped me organize my thoughts in my early days of researching my belief system.
