  A call from family - Armageddon this month!

  i very seldom receive a call from my jw siblings, i mean seldom.

  i can count them on my hand in past 10 years.

  while we talk about mom a lot and i am in touch with her, i was very surprised when i received this call.

  The dubs live in expectation of the end so it's no wonder that every event in the world and in their organization is viewed through that lens and gets them very excited.

  It seems that recently with the refugees, the pope's US visit and all the changes in the organization itself that many in my wife's local hall (even my wife it seems - remember she doesn't talk to me about it but her activity has upticked and she's talked some to the kids) are really thinking that the great tribulation is really coming fast.

  I wonder how long it will take them to settle down again and if that will have any after-effect such as depression or lack of zeal for awhile....again

  got a call from a relative that i should go to the meeting this sunday because something major to be announced.

  (they were told it has to do with branches closing down, missionaries being sent home, etc).

  i said it's probably money.

  Welcome to the board New Order. You've had quite a life. I hope that you and your husband and son are happy and doing well. I'm so glad the JWs don't come by looking for your donations anymore. You are so much better off having them leave you alone. Please keep posting because you offer a great perspective.

  Latest rumor - all WT construction "suspended", except for Warwick

  heard 4th-hand, but from a full-on believer, so not likely to be an "apostate lie":.

  apparently, at bethel's morning worship this morning, it was announced that all worldwide wts construction is "suspended" for an indefinite time, except for the new world headquarters at warwick.. also, the "relocation" of remote translating teams is also suspended.. finally, there will be a "worldwide" reduction in bethel personnel.. all this came to me in a non-english language, and,as noted, 4th-hand.

  so it is possible something may have been lost in translation and/or in the multiple steps between bethel morning worship & me.. but if true, it would be quite stunning.

  seriously, they will change the midweek meeting ever so slightly.

  it is just repackaging of the same old stuff.seriously, we don't know if construction is halted for days, weeks, months, forever, or what.. we don't know if new kingdom halls will still go up, old kingdom halls will be closed and sold.

  they have laid off bethelites before and they will lay them off some more.

  was appointed to the circuit and im starting to hear tidbits of his talks..

  one brother told me that in one of his talks he asked the question; .

  Imho it would be no different that when the bookstudy as a separate meeting night was cancelled. Most dubs were very happy that they had another free night. I know that a lot of families in my old hall do not have a regular family night study. If the dubs were relieved of the door to door work they'd be happy to comply.

  you know, we have been married for ~27 years....most of which we had nothing to do with the piece of shite cult.

  up till the begining of 2014 was when i woke up.

  Maybe I missed this but could you just ask her if she will ever want to have sex with you and what she feels you need to do qualify for sex? If the answer is 'be a god jdub' then you pretty much know what you have to do.

  Remember, both you and your wife deserve to be happy. It may work out that you can be happy together or it may not, but you both deserve happiness.

  I don't know what the right thing for you to do is but you should try to imagine what your life could be like if you were able to somehow reconcile with her and really have a genuine marital relationship as well as imagining what it may be like if you divorced.

  Remember, the "truth" comes first, always. She knows you will never live through Armageddon so I believe she is limiting her exposure to pain and hurt by pulling away from your relationship. The witholding of sex is a way for her to make you see sense (her version) and return to J; it's the next thing in the arsenal since she realistically can't shun you as she would someone else.

  My marriage has ups and downs, right now it's down. So my advice may be a reflection of my mood.

  the royal commission published it's redress report today.

  it is a 668 page document, but it is very interesting.

  all the recommendations they make are in harmony with what all other institutions will accept.

  The organization is selfish and greedy so any money they pay out will hurt them emotionally which is great because that's how they hurt most of us.

  If it doesn't break them financially that's ok but the bad publicity is priceless even if its only local to Australia.

  I thought I read that the Australian government would be enacting legislation (the teeth) based on the findings of the ARC? Does anyone know if that's how it works?
