The new Track has anyone heard?
by ladione5000 inwe are all doomed to death, i think by the end of this year too, so we dont have long .
i heard that the work is going to stop, that would be kindof nice here since it is so cold in the winter and knocking on doors waking people up is really lame in the first place, i often wondered why we had to hit the streets so early and make people so angry?.
well supposely this new track is hitting him where it hurts, they are out right telling people they are going to die at the hands of god if they do not join up with the jws right now.

Does anybody feel like if not for the Internet we could have still been in
by ladione5000 inthe dark?
walking around knocking on peoples doors and telling them they are going to die if they do not follow our beliefs?.
i for one feel like this is the new world, and there is just no stopping this super highway we call the internet... it is like a whole new world, we can now talk and meet people around the world.

I left long before the net--left the hard way. With no one to talk with and having to start a whole new world for myself out here all alone. How scary that was way back then. There was no thought then that the Org was ever going down, but now with all this exposure, it could be a real possiblility but at this point, it's just a great fantasy for me--that one day the Org won't be and I'll have my whole family back. Don't think that's going to happen in my life time, but thanks for the nice fantasy.

New Biography of Pastor Russell
by RR innew biography of pastor russell.
ninety years ago the founder of the bible students, pastor charles taze russell, died.
the organization he established became fragmented and subject to strong personalities who felt they knew how to best continue his legacy.

RR,
I'm wondering why you even care or why are you wasting precious time examining anything Russell had to say. This has absolutely no relevance for us today. It only meant something to him or anyone at that time period because they were living at that time period. So many have a need to make the time that they are living somehow more meaningful than any other time period. That's why those JW's living during 1975 made that period so important. They'd do it again in the 2000s, if they could get away with it. But the WT knows better than to beat that horse again. We're free of all that--THANK GOD. If you really feel the need to exercise your obviously deep, mathematical, complex mind read, "The Joys of Statistics."

Welcome Skyking,
I sure understand your hurt, I've been there and most all here have similar stories of hurt, betrayal, deep hurt, abandonment, hurt, hurt, hurt, however, be happy you made it out. I say whatever it takes--your 're out--you're free. It's an amazing world out here. Do whatever you can to heal and then enjoy, rejoice and celebrate sweet FREEDOM.

Hey there,
Did you know a Lucy and Tom Guther? They were at bethel for a long while and lived in Owego for a long time. Tom was an Elder there. This is so interesting. Please let me know as soon as you can. I am a close relative of theirs.

becoming a jehovah's witness
by pcecilia inhello all who may read this, i am in the midst of writing a story, and a character who has appeared in the story is a jehovah's witness... i am attempting to gain a better understanding of the religion and its practitioners so as to present witnesses in a fair light... i am of no religious affiliation, but i assume that anything that a person believes is valid as long as they have put it through much consideration and thoughtfulness...
) of you are ex-witnesses, but i would like to know about what first attracted you to the religion to begin with... was it just passed down in your family, or did you make a conscious choice to become a witness?
if so, for what reasons?

Quandry,
Just curious--Did you finally leave? and also wondering--you said at the end, "The guilt, the guilt. To what are you referring. the guilt of what your daughter is now experiencing as a result of being a witness or what? Did your husband also see through all the bull. I sure hope so. i curous because I was in about that time also 1971. Actually got baptized in 1969. I was very lucky to leave in 1988. Still a lot of years, but now at last--I have built a network of real friends, although I lost family members and a bunch of jw friends. We have all been there, my friend, hang on in there. It's great to be free.
