OH--I enjoyed your story so much. My story is very similar. You are not alone. We all have horrible stories like yours. I was much older when I finally woke up and left the JW's. So thankful for that. I went on a spiritual search for a long time and finally found my way. I wish the same for you. It's great that you can speak some positive words about your experience in the cult. It still is hard for me to say anything good. LOts of luck....Isa

"Dubs For Dummies"
by Farkel indear brothers and sisters in the worldwide brotherhood of jehovahs witnessestm,.
there has been much public interest in our beliefs lately, so we have prepared a very brief summary of our core beliefs in a new pamphlet which you may offer to interested persons.
hopefully, this pamphlet will generate enough interest with honest-hearted people and enable you to start many new bible studies.

It's been a very long time since I've been here. What does DUBS actually mean. I know it must be JW's but give me details, please

Has being a Witness made it hard for you to love Jesus?
by jwfacts inwhenever i hear the word jehovah i still feel warm and fuzzy.
he was the god that i spent hours talking to in prayer, petitioning, thanking, pleading with.
he was my father, the creator, the one who we would worship for eternity.. jesus on the other hand i never spoke or prayed to.

And exactly---what did Jesus do for us?

You--who said this-- It's worth repeating over and over.. " It has nothing to do with my true essence" I always was mute when people would bring up the subject of Jesus--"Do you accept Jesus as your Lord and savoir" You know that one--OH my God--I hated that question--Didn't know how to put it into words--why was all that so unimportant in my life. Now I know--very simple but so true--
It has nothing to do with my true essence.
With all that said--- I do believe that Jesus reached a very high state of divine grace--he reached the level of the Great Avatars for whom the title "Lord" is appropriate" Lord Krishna, Lord Buddha, and Lord Jesus Christ. When it comes to Jehovah, I'm surprise anyone can have a warm feeling when thinking of what I remember to be a very angry, vengeful, jealous and--oh-so fussy God. But if it works for you, Great. You've already found your True God. Don't give Jesus another thought, then. I'm sure he doesn't care. "Pick a card--any card" Pick a God--any God.

Goodbye, my sweet sister
by sweetface2233 ini was raised as a witness and have been miserable for my entire existence.
i have hated every moment of it.
after about 10 years of struggling, i decided 2 years ago that i was done w/ the charade and wasn't going to return to the meetings.

It never seizes to amaze me that this same thing happens to others, besides me, over and over again. WOW! -- that happened to me almost exactly. I cried the entire night after that conversation--I love my sister so much. I thought I had some great reasoning to hit her with that last conversation with her, but she just kept coming back with how I'm offending God. I'll never forget how awful that night was. Many wonderful people have come into my life since then--people that are very, very much like sisters to me. I had to mourn her, though. She came back into my life about 20 years later when I got seriously ill and thought I could die, but nothing was ever the same and we hardly speak now that I'm better. Our bond was forever broken.
My heart goes out to you with all my heart. You are not alone, you know. We all understand exactly what you are going through. Vent here as much as you need to. We are here to listen.

My wife left me two weeks ag
by littlemike ini dont post on here that often but look everyday.. i used to be an elder and left the witnesses 5 years ago.
my wife left 6 years ago.. in my opinion my wife and i have had the best 5 years of our lives because we have been married 28 years.. after 28 years of marriage she sent me a text you need to go home there is a letter on our bed.
in the letter she clearly states she has left me because she does not love me in the real way.

It's crappy, yea, real crappy. One day in the future--you might be saying to us that you never thought there was going to be such great living after such a death. You deserve to be loved in return with the same love that you give and it's clear that she was able to love you in that same way. I suggest- if at all possible considering your emotional state, to get involved with some positive group--singles group of some sort or even a good open-minded church. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. These sayings are some time sickening but they are really so true. Do the best you can right now. Don't be afraid to grieve all you want to. But then embrace the new adventure in your life.

I don't want to Die in this system!!
by Save My Soul ini have noticed many of my parents friends are slowly passing away.
the daughter of a po told me he became inactive a year before his death because he never thought he would die in this system.
he started smoking and watching porn as well.

And yet every single person alive today will die in this system. All we have to do is look at the past. How could they not put the facts together in their heads. They need to do the math. But all that is needed is a different hope, one that involves having some sort of brain.

hum--I wonder. I'm never around JW youths, but I hear many, many are leaving. I supposethere are still many who are "good" Jws also and if just out of fear of Jehovah tow the line, too bad. I met my niece for the first time (my brothers daughter) who is 20 now. My brother is still a JW, raised his two kids as such, but both kids are both out of "the truth" and seem a little lost now.
I know from my own experience that the more you talk about how bad it is to "sin" the more you want to "sin" because so much attention is given to negetive thoughts. It's the worst way to teach kids, as far as I'm concerned.

Makes me wonder--how can any JW read this letter and not stop and think. But they do it all the time. Most will read a little and feel it's their obligation to toss it out as soon as they realize it's "apostate material." Those who will have the courage to continue reading will probably dismiss the logic and truth of it all by thinking that "Satan's got him for sure" and never bother to think an independent thought. It just bugs me because their is no way of getting through as much as we would like to. I've been trying for 20 years now and finally had to resign myself to the fact that we're dealing with robots here and not normal, thinking minds. Too bad isn't it. Sorry to be such a downer--but let me spare you years of futility in thinking that you can somehow make these people think. It's worth trying though and who knows the letter may fall on ears that may just be ready to hear. I hope, I hope. Great job on the letter, though.
