Head honcho of the GB
by loosie inok i know that the governing body no longer has a president so to speak.
but is there one of them who takes the lead?
i hear a lot talk here about ted jacaraz.

No there isn't a president anymore. I don't remember when they stopped that.
Does Ted have any title that differs from the other GB members?
Does any of the inner circle JW's know that Ted is a special one?

Yes Ceasar does grant that status. But when Ceasar tried to take that status away by saying if you are selling books you will be taxed. The society decided to jump on the bandwagon with Christendom (swagart) and file a friend of the court paper, and then started asking for non taxable donations in stead of setting a price.

Ok Defd, you made the statement. They have their won garbage trucks and ambulances. You should provide the proof to back up your statement.
I've been in the truth as long or longer than you have juding by your new picture. I have never heard of them having their own ambulances and such. Besides those two things there are many things that a company that large would consume from a city that should have taxes paid to it.
What about the scripture where Jesus says "pay Ceasars things to Ceasar and God things to God"? Or does that apply only to the great crowd and not the 144,000?

JWs and the holidays at work
by limbogirl ini had lunch this week with some business colleagues and one of them complained that at her office there is now a "no merry christmas" policy which includes not saying merry christmas, not decorating the office for christmas, no christmas party, no secret santa games or exchanging of gifts.
i asked why all the rules and she said that there is one woman (out of nearly 150 employees) who is a jw and office management has decided the best way to handle the situation without excluding this woman or offending her in any way is to eliminate all reference to the holidays.
as you can imagine the other employees are in an uproar.

I had a co worker ask me once why don't I work on Christmas. It was a silly question because, we weren't open on Christmas. My job required I call toher business and they weren't open on Christmas. She also gave me a hard time about accepting the Christmas bonus $$. The funny thing she was Jewish. She also took the day off. At least I believe in the man who season is for, she did not.
Now I work in a different industry. We are open on the holidays. I work on that day and all the other holidays so that co-workers who feel those holidays are important to them don't have to work that day.
But what bugs me is the bell ringer standing outside of Wal-mart saying "Merry Christmas". Assuming everyone agrees with him. Would Wal-mart allow him to stand there ringing his bell and collect money if he was saying something else, Such as "long live Allah"?

Huge shock!
by Crumpet ini just got a major shock.
i can't believe the new levels of cruelty possible within families who are jws.. a friend on this board who i've known since i was a baby practically has managed to get me a picture of my little sister who i haven't seen for 8 years - the one who i've mentioned my dad said was working on the bethel quick build team.
the one who i've described my fears that she and my younger sister are staying single until armageddon.

Crumpet,
I feel for you. ((hugs))
Are you in the market to adopt a slightly older sister. I will talk to you, I'm funny and After 10 years of marriage I still glow, if you know what I mean.

I do believe most animals have feelings. Fish do not
I don't agree with this. I think all animals have feelings.
I had a fish "couple" (mollys) in a with other fish. They were definitely an tiem. He would swim around her and put his fins up when other male fish swam to close to her. And when she died he was actually sad.
So he felt jealousness, sadness and protectiveness.
