  now the elders are trying to convince her parents that our relationship should end.

  She can't get the same kind of emotional support from her mom that she got from you.

  Well she does need to stand up to her mother. Remind her that When mother speaks it is not the same as God speaking. My mother thought that if you didn't do what she said you were disobeying God.

  I was in a similar situation when I got married. We went off and got married without their knowledge or approval. We are still together over 10 years later.

  So it can be done, but she has to love you more than her mother.

  i first noticed that no scriptural discussion of the choice is made, so it all appears to be solely the decision of the signatory.. when choosing alternatives of treatment, the witless merely initials his choice under clauses 3 and 4. since this simply indicates choice, full signature and witness are not required.. .

  now clause 6:.

  "i consent to my medical records ands the details of my condition being shared with the emergency contact below (cong secretary recommended) and/or with member(s) of the hospital liaison committee for jehovah's witnesses.. .

  The fear of "spontaneous sex"

  when i was young and single and a witness.

  i remember often the fear older people had of putting young people together alone.

  not just for dating, but even leaving them in a car while an older couple went to a return visit.

  I went over to a couples house for a get together with (gasp) a brother. We drove over and back alone in the car, and we DID NOT stop to have sex. We just drove back to my house where my parents were waiting. My parents didn't have a problem with it. But I got a lecture the following week from a brother that was older than me ( I guess he thought he was my dad). He wasn't even at the get together. He said don't ever let me hear about you driving in a car alone with a man again.

  So apparenty driving alone in a car with a man is sin.

  My comeback to him should have been don't let me hear about your breaking into a retail store to steal $$ again. Thats what he was known for.

  i recall it was always a buzz word when i was in to "inculcate" your children (deut 6:7) the belief system.

  i don't remember exactly what they taught inculcate to mean but i decided to look it up: inculcate .

  to impress (something) upon the mind of another by frequent instruction or repetition.
