A JWN Member just lost her Husband and She could use some encouragement.
by ohiocowboy inon 4/6, the poster orphan annie posted about her experiences with jw's and her ill husband.
unfortunately, her husband died monday, and she is feeling very sad.
i just wanted to make others aware of it, so that we can encourage her and give her some much needed support during this rough time.. her original thread is here.

My son was murdered today
by truman ini have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

I just heard about this today from Wayne. I am so sorry. It is so hard to lose a child no matter what their age. ((hugs))

Atheists..... throwing the baby out with the bath water ?
by snare&racket inthis saying permeates this forum with higher frequency than most.
despite being an open atheist amongst lots of religious people in my life, i have never been accused of doing this and i have never heard this saying attributed to my choice... appart from here.. i thought it would be best to clarify why i (and i assume others) decided to leave the bible behind after leaving the wt society.. realising the wt society was wrong desroyed my world, for me it meant so much.
i had given so much to it too, it just had to be true!

I totally agree Snare. What bothers me the most is when people ask my religion and I tell them Iam an atheist, they clutch their chest gasp and take a step back as if this person that they knew all this time has suddenly grown horns before their very eyes. I am the same person they know me to be I just don't have an imaginary friend.

what about all the people that were killed in the name of god? If there is a god why doesn't get rid of that huge pimple on that kids face before he goes preaching the word of christ?
