  when things settle down is there any chance the lawyer who wrote this article, or one of her colleagues would be willing to come to this forum and answer some of the many questions we may have?

  the Big News & 60 Min. or 20/20 or Dateline ?

  what if we did a letter writing campaign to one of the big news shows about the 'big news' and asked them to check into this?

  i think it would require large amounts of mail to get noticed.

  any thoughts on this?

  You know every time I see the cover of that awake with the children who have died over the blood issue, it really makes me hope that people will wake up and use their own reasoning instead of losing their child over a misdirected, erroronous teaching. Still though I don't see any immediate action. It has to be accepted and utilized by the courts, untill it is this is just another article exposing the JW's as a high control pressure religion.

  AuldSoul I agree. They won't make mention. They will play dumb to any mention of it, offering no comments. They messed up and they should be held acountable, I hope this is the start of a bit of relief to thoese who have been wronged by the Watchtower society.

  The more I look at it though, if not having an immediate impact upon the membership of the Organization, which I don't feel it will have. It may further shed light on their true colors to the general population, in a sence an inoculation with an anti-watchtower vaccine. Pretty hard issue for the Watchtower to do damage control and mop up, though they will try through the public relations department if the need arises. I think this may be bigger to the public knowledge of the Jehovah's Witness religion and hopefully that effect can extend to wake up the thinking ones.

  No matter what the opinion, its too early to tell whether this has any real effect or not. I think it's best to see if the courts will first accept this before announcing total Watchtower meltdown, but by all means lets all suport this issue and do what we can. I hope all goes well with this and that it truly will be as huge as stated. This can be great but ones here are understandably a bit cautious at getting their hopes up. None the less we all cary on, and aplaud Barbara for her efforts. I would love to see the Watchtower answer for it's wrongs and hopefully this will be the route to making that a reality. I think all here support it totally, but are scared to get their hopes up yet.

  I still maintain though that the average Witness will not be phased at all by this brochure, in fact after the Governing body finished demonizing the article as they did date line half the witnesses will run in fear from hearing its mention. Hope not but just remember the mindset, and it will be tought to crack.

  Well I guess we'll wait and see how big this news will become but again I do not see a mass exodus in this and unless some judge decides to change the tides and allow a relgion to be tried for its teachings this won't go as far as ones have stated. This will not have any effect on the indoctrinated witness! Im sorry but it will not jar their minds and will not draw them out in mass exodus, never. They will merely dismiss it as another of Satan's attacks on their Organization.

  For this to be truly effective from what I see is the Government is going to have to be convinced to allow religions to be sued over their teachings, then with mass law cases witnesses may start to wake up.

  
  I made this point in another post on this very subject and wanted to re-itterate on it. Honestly for this to have any effect it is going to have to be chosen, adapted, and used by the Judicial system. If they choose not to follow the advice of this medical brochure they will not want to get tangled in a religion vs. state issue. I know it has potential but I wonder if it will get off the ground? The article may have been over hiped a bit. I hope it takes off like some have said but it has an uphill battle and as for mass exodus, it won't happen over this article, but it may be a start. A chink in the Watchtower armour.

  But I do applaud Barbara's efforts in continually trying to bring expose on the Society for it's wrongs.

  Yes very true, thats how they persecuted me when I was an active Witness. They stripped me of all my priveledges and then when I moved due to pressure from the elder body, they sabatoged my character to the new elder body.

  Anyways sorry and back ontopic with the post. I would go with the suggestion to just walk in and ask to view your publisher card then proceed to tear it up or walk out like others suggested. I mean really what are they going to be able to do about it? Unless you have family or friends within you have nothing to lose, it may draw their attention but really who's to say you didn't just forget them in your pocket as you were walking out lol

  I think its obvious though that for this too have effect we must raise our voices and get this message out to thoese who can make religion liable for their damaging doctrines. This brochure needs to get some momentum behind it for it to fully effect the court system.
