  Ouija boards Do you feel they are real or not?Any personal experiences?

  i've had several expereiences with ouija boards, some interesting, some disturbing, and as skeptical as i try to be i have to admit i have seen it personally say things and do things that i can not logically explain.

  some say its your sub-conscience, some say its spirits, others say its demons.

  i am just wondering if any of you have had experiences with the ouija board, what they were, and what you believe about them, supernatural or just another simple amusement?

  Wow, some pretty interesting stories. Me personally Ive had it relate things that happened years later and yes they did come true. I had completely forgot about it until I messed with a board years later. Even the initials of who I would marry and that was when I was a kid, I had no idea who I would marry. No lies it honestly stated that. It's one of thoese bizzare instances.

  I have had interesting experiences on the board and some very unsettling which I tend not to like to bring up. Ive talked with ghosts, spirits, demons, you name it. Even one demon who felt remorse with God, which kinda was not your average board experience. I don't play with the board anymore but when I used to I remember almost feeling an addiction for it. I was spending more and more time on it, without really realizing it. I even tore it in half once to get rid of it and tried it one last time before chucking it out. It still worked for me and the spirit pleaded for me not to throw it out but to remain friends. I have recently never bought a board since but have tried just a piece of cardboard and a plate and it works just as well for me. Not that im promoting the Ouji board, I certainly would not do that but its very mind boggling to me. I just can't be sure whether it is supernatural or whether I somehow created it all up sub-consciencelly. Its really wierd to me but still its interesting.

  I do cry now sometimes but not often. It has to be due to some extreme emotional sadness or stress. I think its like it was earlier posted, you reach your emotional limit and you break down. I wasn't allowded to cry in the open when I was young because of my father, so even now I tend not to show too much emotion openly, I keep it all balled up inside till I can't hold it no more. When you do cry though it sure feels good to just let it all out.

  Misanthropic: Sexual stuff on an ouiji board. Yep Ive personally seen it spell stuff like that out but that could have been me at the time as I was on a board with a girl I liked.lol

  Captain Schmideo: Very interesting though that posted story about opening this portal to another dimension in which you can contact spirits for a mere $16.99 It does seem silly when you think about it.

  Myself I dont know for sure what to believe, maybe I'll run some tests on it, but I really think its somewhat influenced by the person on it. Thinking of what Terry wrote and Captain Schmideo, I remember once being on an ouiji board with a friend that couldn't spell squat and guess what, the ghost, spirit, demon, or whatever couldn't spell worth a hoot either. I have noticed also that it seems to be influenced by what a person believes at the current time, as specifically to spiritual beliefs I am meaning.

  Teela2: That would be spooky for sure, but I'd have to see that to believe it.

  Hellrider: lol They probably are. When I first got on one it took me along time before anything would happen either, I didnt think it would ever work, then poof it just started moving. I don't know if their supposed to be demons or spirits or what, but they sure hate it when you argue with them, which I would do. LMAO

  Keep the story's coming from both sides, skeptic and believer.

  You know whats wierd though and is how the planchette will speed up and at times almost go with a maddening speed, and you can try to manipulate it but it seems to come to a animation of its own. I dont know if this is just a work of our own selves? I too have had it say things that have later come true but have I influenced it also? I have always been troubled by wondering if they are really a portal to the supernatural or not? Maybe Terry is right Garbage in/Garbage out. Very interesting though Mulan how you ended up marrying a David at age 17 like the board had predicted.

  grew up being told "You want to cry? I'll give you something to cry about!" bam#$#

  I learned real young that crying meant you got hit.

  Funny I was raised the same way, and my father was a so called good standing JW.

  Flurry of new hall builds or remodels?

  hi all.. what is going on in your area with respect to hall building or remodeling?

  there are lots of remodel projects around my area; it does not seem that the growth is here to merit the building.. my hall is going to sell it's building to generate the cash for a new building; the current one is a 20 year old quick build.. the thing is this: i don't know why they just don't remodel, or split the hall.

  the excuse is that there are not enough elders; so now they are going to put up a completely new structure to house a large congregation?

  I certainly agree with the above posters statement. The congregations in the western countries are definetly not growing at all. Where I am located they are actually shrinking slowly with most of the members being quite elderly and no real new members other then some long time members children who may have gotten baptized. As for newcomers from the territory, absolutely none for the last 5-6 years that I have noticed.

  Oh I find it funny how the harder people try to defend the Witnesses the further they truly expose their lies. I think Jw apoligists do the most damage to their own religion. You can't mask truth with lies and this goes for the false 607 date.

  JOHANNES GREBER....Who Was He?

  over the period of time i've watched and read plenty on the watchtower society and their leaders, yet not too much on johannes greber.....no he wasn't the founder of gerber foods.....lol... so i did a little more research on him and he was a former catholic priest....here's what i found out......... who was johannes greber?

  johannes greber was an ex-catholic priest who took it upon himself to translate his own version of the new testament.

  to aid him in this endeavor, he contacted the "spiritworld" to reveal the proper remderings of the scriptures he sought.

  Very informative information. I discovered this out too when I first began my research into the Watchtower Society. It is really interesting that as the Org. condems spiritism, yet they will go to such lengths to support their translation of John 1:1. Even to the length of qouting Johannes Greber's translation in support of their translation of John 1:1. This really was another eye opener for me. Glad you posted this for others to see.

  Appreciate the hard work Blondie. I love how you show the little buzzwords and the subtle mind numbing techniques they use. Great review.

  Oh when I read that review, God im so happy im not a JW and dont have to swallow that crap for an hour every sunday. Just reading it brought back memories of what it was like and made me want to puke. Oh freedom is worth every ounce of turmoil it took to get it.
