  i am not one who will ever bother to waste my time heaping praise on the jw religion as though it were some kind of improvement on society.

  i have no qualms in saying that it was, is, and always will be a dangerous religion ?

  Maybe some peoples lives have been affected more than others.

  MY WHOLE CHILDHOOD/adolescance WAS TAKEN FROM ME FOR NO REASON.I think I have some right to be annoyed at that.My parents with the help of that organization singled me out everywhere I went.I could not do anything unless it concerned the organization or the people in it.Yes I could pick out a few random trivial things that helped me,but it would be nothing against the things I feel I lost on.

  I have a right to my opinion,and I respect everyones here,so im glad you call me a cry baby,thats real intelligent---I hope you public speaking ability takes you far in life------by the way ,when you were 10 and your mommy was writing your talks for you,how happy were you then,being forced to go onstage agianst your wiil,do that to your kids someday,oh yeah,you wont because you no its wrong.

  As always,people who try to defend thier upbringing go back to worse case scenarios.

  Example-If I didnt have the troof, i would have experimented with drugs---no people experiment with drugs because they want to!!!!!!

  I would have gotten pregnant.Again,no,none of my worldly friends have gotten anyone pregnant,there just not dumb about having sex.

  I can speak in front of a crowd,becvause of the ministry shcool.Please spare me that line of crap.

  Well I had good friends in the troof growing up.--tell me,how many of those "friends "still talk to you,and if they do,always with the thought that they could sway you to comeback.The only friends that still call or talk to me are my "worldly " friends from school.The same people my mother and father called bad assosiation.

  Sixofnine said it best,you pigheadedly taught you kids to stand up for self important beliefs.

  I cant get all the thoughts I have out,----but ask yourself,if you took out that religion alone,would your life have been better or worse.I know I can say better.Hands down

  Have you recieved any "gifts"?

  i have read from day one how dubs aren't restricted by worldly holidays (specifically c'mas and b'days) as they can give gifts any day of the year.. i married into a huge dub clan.

  to this day (20years and counting) i have never recieved a gift from anyone.

  my cheap ass dub bosses never even gave an end of the year bonus (totoally tax deductible).

  There are WAY to many what ifs in my life to ever think again that growing up in that insane envirement was good.I would have rather anything else.The way I was raised in that organization was completely wrong.It has only caused confusion and hurt along the way.Just my circumstances I guess.

  Obesity vs. Smoking - which is worse?

  when i was going to the kingdumb hall people were being actively disfellowshipped for smoking because it was bad for you and an insult to jehovah.. how come nobody disfellowshipped the 400 pound sister who brought her own chair or stood in the back because she couldn't fit in her chair?.

  why didn't anyone disfellowship the bookstudy leader for looking pregnant when he obviously wasn't.. why is cigarette addiction bad but not food addiction.. just wondering?

  If obesity is/or can be considered a medical condition,hasnt science proved that alchoholism and drug addicction can also be genetic or a disease.They shouldnt have the right to df or judge someone in either case.what ever happened to "you reap what you sow".If someone destroys thier mind and body,they will be held accountable.The only job of people around you is to show compassion and love,not threaten to excommunicate people in the name of doing whats right.The whole dfing process is stupid.

  what was the worse thing while you where in the "truth".

  for me, it felt that everynight was a meeting night, the relentlous pressure getting to the meetings.. for my husband, apart from the meetings, it was the never ending assiments.

  for my teenage son, it must have been field service.

  Its so hard to think about just 1 thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  forcing me to brting liturature to school and give it to my teacher from kindergarten on-that sucked. my mom would give me the school brochure and force me to give it to my teacher.I did that until 5th grade,then I would lie and tell her I gave it to them,I remember feeling very guilty,but it was worth not being humiliated.

  Also ,telling me how my friends at school were going to die,because they don't love jehovah.I'd always say that it wasnt thier fault thier parents weren't jdubs.my parents would then explaion to me how they fell under thier parents fate, or some bull along those lines.

  meetings and field service was like being marched off to hell.

  UN Library Card Excuse.

  a coupie of nights ago, i was sat watching an old video-clip of the village people singing "ymca"on tv.

  the thought occured to me that the wt most likely have a down on the ymca (they have a down on most things), so i searched ymca on my wt library cd.. well, that was interesting all right.

  however, one part of the article reminded me of brooklyns excuse for being party to the un as an ngo.

  great point englishman.never thought of that.I remember someone was "stumbled" in the hall,because they saw a brother walking into the YMCA.how childish on that persons part,and what a bunch of hypocrites the society is.

  The only truth is that everything that has ever lived on earth has died.This is an inexcabable fact.I think people choose thier beliefs to try and psycologically change this fact.--Also known as "hope".
