just a little background, my cousin is 38 and hasn't attended meetings for nearly 20 years.
then, a week later, another elder and the circuit overseer came knocking for the same reason, so she decided to go to the thursday night meeting.
then on sunday, she went for the talk, and was told she had an elder's meeting at 12:30 that afternoon.
I'm sorry you had to deal with that. Total bullshit double standards. The reason I left in the first place was because me and my wife were treated like crap, I was reproved for getting drunk once over a year prior to when they talked to me about it. It just makes me angry thinking about it.

i saw very little racism or prejudice in the hall.
i'm wondering if my experience is isolated.
I live in central Wisconsin, where there is a high Hmong population. Some of the witnesses treated them badly, but overall I would have to say there wasn't a lot of predjudice in the hall towards them. Surprising actually.

I was born into it. I stayed until I was 25. 2 years ago I really began to realize how much I was begining to hate th JW religion. That's when I left. Some of the hatred has faded, but it's been replaced by disgust.

Jeanniebeanz, goodies are always welcome around my house. I have a really fast metabolism, and I run half marathons, so I doubt they would do any harm to my skeletor appearance. Cindy, I can sing country well too, but it's my love of evil music that keeps me going. I love to sing dark and evil songs. I just got in a band recently and that's what we do.

it makes one seem.....well, a bit of an onion.
Debating about answers to questions that have no attainable answers does get tiring.
I'm sure we'll both find out someday when this life is over.
In the meantime I think it's important to try and be happy and make each day count.

Cindy, I know alot of religious leaders don't believe in the Bible. I have to say I really don't believe it either.
There's just way too many inconsistencies in it to be inspired by God.
