What would you do?

since my husband i my recent fading process, we've received a few "love bombing" letters from some in our old congregation.. i've received 2 from an old "friend" whom i grew up with and went to school with.
we've drifted apart years ago, to the point where she wouldn't even look at me at the hall---she's a pionner, husband a ministerial servant.

That's a tough decision to make. It was very hard for me when I left. When you've been a part of something for your whole life it's hard to just walk away. The thing you will come to realize is even though she might be a nice person, she will be reporting her progress back to the elders. Is that a real friend?
If you guys continue to simply walk away they will eventually DF you. That's how they are working thing in our circut now (listen to me talk JW lingo). You will lose your old friends. It happened to me also. Sometimes I miss going and playing ball with the guys, or watching football with them. But now I'm making new friends, people who don't care what my beliefs are. They just want to be friends because they like the kind of person I am without having to judge me. You guys will make new friends too. Danielle and I would love to hang out with you guys. It really does take courage to walk away from it all. But, for me the rewards have been much greater than the losses. Don't worry too much, life goes on and things always turn out in the end.

Whenever I see old Watchtower or Awakes left in random places like laundry mats or coffee shops I make it my personal witnessing mission to take them and destroy them before they ruin another person's life.

GBL - I have the same thoughts often. I know I would do it different, but I do like what I have become. Sometimes I wish I could live it all over. But in the end I guess we get one go around. At least me and you are still young enough to not repeat our mistakes and still have some fun.

3 years and counting

it's kind of funny because since i came to this board not even one year ago yet my life has really changed.
i have da'd, become shunned by my parents, and lost alot of "friends".

by SHUNNED FATHER intwo leading oncologists both agree that my daughter bethany might be alive today if she had not been fed arsenic.
as you may recall, the wts arranged to take my sick daughter into hiding for two months and payed a doctor to prescribe arsenic.
the doctor ant the wts lawyers convinced bethany that the arsenic treatment could cure her.

Defd - Dude you don't get what I was saying. The guy as brought out by others, wants to protest against the WTBTS. That is his original message.
Just because you want to try and convince people you are some great Dub trying to save everyone here with your false beliefs, doesn't make it right to take over the man's plea for help.
I don't care what your beliefs are. I did that for 25 years. I know all the ins and outs of being a JW. I'm just asking you to give the original poster of this thread the common courtesy of a simple "I'm sorry for what happened" and not defend a cult on his thread which was obvioussly not intended for that purpose.

So I realized it was three years ago now since I left the JW's. It's kind of funny because since I came to this board not even one year ago yet my life has really changed. I have DA'd, become shunned by my parents, and lost alot of "friends". But, my life has become much better in so many ways. I have finally been able to come to grips with most of the guilt that consumed me after leaving. I have made new and better friends. I also am no longer afraid to chase my dreams. But one thing that is cool is I now have become much more open minded. It's really amazing how much better of an experience life is when you aren't pre-judging things all the time.
So anyways here's to three years and counting

Defd - I find it disgusting that you jack this poor father's thread. The man needs some sympathy and support. What he doesn't need is somone defending this worthless cult on a page clearly designed to show how they murder and destroy families. Why don't you start your own JW support thread or something. I've read your stuff, and you are entitled to your opinions. However you need to be a little more sensative at where you decide to insert your brainwashed opinions.

10 Years out BUT!!
by Vassago ini have been out of the organization for 10 years now!.
i was born and raised in it and even married a man of the same faith.
but at 21 i walked away and looked back only a couple of times.. but only for the past 2 or 3 years, i have been doing things that i find fun.
