i have written here before about my mother in law causing problems in my marriage and how she has not been nice to me or my two beautiful children.. so my husband, who is the most kind and forgiving man on the planet wants to give his mother another chance.
he tells me she is not going to be around much longer, at the most we only have 10-15 more years before she dies.
( i thought he was trying to make me happy when he said that and accidentally smiled....which made him peeved).
Your MIL reminds me of alot of the nosy, gossiping types from the hall. Isn't it crazy that she can't just come over and be a normal human? I am so glad that I married a girl with non JW parents. It makes the in-law situation so much easier. I wish I had some good advice to offer, but I really don't. Just stick to your guns, and don't let the crazy old witch corrupt your children. Let them grow up not believing in worthless lies. Good luck on future visits.

well, i came across a couple of interesting pieces of news yesterday, that i thought you would all find encouraging.
while i was standing in line at macdonald?s yesterday morning, i ran into a couple of jws from the other side of town.
they were up in my area because (not surprisingly) they were laying tiles at a local bar and the work had to be done on sunday morning.
That's awesome! I hope the whole stupid religion goes under. It would be so funny after all those years they condemned other religions. Maybe the JW's are the harlot that's talked about in Revelation. The nations will turn on the false prophet of a religion, and bring her to justice.

i have known some people (i dont' know if it's true or not) [and i am the kind of person that doesn't like to cause trouble] who have said that jehovah's witnesses keep tabs/records on people.
all the things they have done like if they got babtized, personal problems/experiences, arguments they may had with people, and just their general conduct as well.
have any people here found out about a "black book" where they keep records on you?

Way to go in confronting your parents on the subject. In studying with the elders, all I have to say is they just make it out to be all wonderful. They treat you like they care, and like you can make no mistake by putting blind faith in what they say. What they don't tell you is that once you start doing what they want, they are going to try and control you all over again. It never fails. I went down that road a couple of times. Search out what some other religions have to say. Just remember there's only 6 million JW's in the whole world. They are definitely in the minority. I am finally starting to feel like I'm making my own decisions after 27 years of life. Leave the brainwashing behind. Think for yourself, and make your own decision. Take it easy.

that always used to make me laugh when somone who couldn't sing just belted it out in their horrible voice.
or i used to love the husband and wife duos that thought they were all that as they sat and tried to harmonize.
I really hate the one song, I think it's number 29 "Firm and Determined". The lyrics just piss me off, because I can't believe people will let themselves be tortured and killed for the JW religion. That song just always bothered me.

upon arriving i ran into lots of old friends and really enjoyed seeing everyone and visiting.
they dont know that im currently struggling with doubts about the organization and they think that im the same old zealous brother.
i couldnt help but feel a sence of guilt visiting with them about our current number of publishers and how many we had pioneering ect.
That just makes me glad I quit. I got yelled at for drinking by the elders all the time. Not much else to do in central Wisconsin.

I forgot to mention the worst singer of all though. If I could remember her name I'd put it up just because I could. Anyways she had the horrible wobbly voice, but it was loud!!!!! At the circut assembly you could hear her from across the building. It used to make me and my sister laugh so hard we would almost start crying. I used to mimic her and then I'd always get the look of death from my mom.
