Not only is it my favorite holiday, but it's my wife's birthday as well. It will be one wild party!!
i will give you an example of what i mean.....two 'sisters' were gone away for the day and they were doing some shopping...there was a used clothing store and it was called something like "the church corner"...keep in mind it was not an old church, nothing religious about it at all.
but one of the 'sisters woulgn't go into it because of the name!!!

It's sad how brainwashed I was. At one point I actually quit watching football because our CO said it was too violent a sport for Christians. It was always stuff like that. I would throw out my favorite CD because they swore, or get rid of my favorite jeans because they had a rip and that wasn't proper attire for a JW.
Sometimes it is just hard not to be mad about it anymore. I think I'm over the majority of it 3 years later but, I know some of the brainwashing still remains even though I don't want it to.

Wow! Interesting thread going on here. I must say it's interesting somone would call out Stilla while posting on the board themselves. Extremely petty if you ask me. I find it interesting Stilla can still go and be unaffected by it. I actually think it's pretty cool. The points he brought out about why he does it made a heck of alot of sense.
I don't have a problem if somone still chooses to go. Many times family pressures can be overwhelming. But people who really want to live the JW lifestyle should realize that if they are posting here they are being naughty little sheep. If they want to be a true JW it means not thinking for yourself, feeling guilty all the time, and strictly following all the society's rules. So before you go pointing the finger think about what you are doing first.

i'm getting ready for my first triathlon next month and find myself wondering if we have any triathletes around here..... i have wanted to complete a tri ever since i ran the 1/2 marathon portion on a tri relay 1/2 ironman in 2003. i've shied away from them because the swim totally freaks me out.
I'm trying to overcome my fear of water. The biking and running part would be fun. I don't know many people in my area that like to train with others. So I've always stuck with my running. But I would really like to try a triatholon one of these next couple of years.
now for all the scientists out there this is not a question of proof or anything along those lines.
for my part i choose to believe in a god because i honestly believe there is one (though i did start doubting for a little while) i've always felt that there was more to our existance on earth - and that doesn't stem from me wanting to live forever or as a spirit, as i don't even know if that will happen.
i also believe in him because many many times when i could not carry on, on my own strength, i managed to pulled through.
I am still deciding. I need to do some looking in different directions to find some of the answers I seek. I am desiring to explore the dark side of the religious spectrum to see if some answers exist. I certainly have found no proof or answers in exploring Christianity or Eastern religions. So before I decide one way or the other I need to search out answers from other sources. If I find nothing then I will be done with God and religion for good.

Yes. Just make sure it's not after 8:00. But you have to be able to practice if you want to get good.
