I love the harlot picture but, having my real pic on an apostate board is kind of like giving a big ol' middle finger to the WT and I like the thought of that much, much better.

I'm lmao @ your "harlot" avatar. :P
Hmm.... I just changed it to my real picture. Why isn't it showing?
Or are you trying to tell me that I look like a harlot in real life?

Thank You So Much!
by Saoirse ini want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers during my difficult time.
my grandmother passed away on december 26. her death was especially heartbreaking for me because she was not a jw and i always felt that she was the only one who loved me unconditionally (unlike my jw relatives).. this is truly a very wonderful and caring community, so unlike the dubs.
love and hugs to you all.

I was fortunate to have had her. She taught me how Christians were supposed to be - non-judgemental, generous and caring.
Back in the forties, she took in a friend who had a child out-of-wedlock, a major taboo in those days. She loved to grow flowers and vegetables. My grandparents had a huge garden and would often give food away to those who were less fortunate, regardless of whether they went to church or not.

Would you celebrate your birthday on the wrong day?????????????"
Yes. Often someone's birthday falls during the week and it's easier to throw a party or have a dinner on the weekend. The same with Anniversaries. My husband and I have taken Anniversary trips up to a month before or after the actual date due to work or other obligations.
My birthday is on Christmas day. I doubt I will be able to celebrate it on that date this year because my Grandmother is close to death and I need to travel out of town to be with her. If my local friends do something for me when I get back, I am not going to complain because it's not the right day.
Since we have no way of knowing when Jesus was born anyways, the date we celebrate his birth really doesn't matter. It's the thought that counts.
On that note:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!!!!

The fear of "spontaneous sex"
by free2beme inwhen i was young and single and a witness.
i remember often the fear older people had of putting young people together alone.
not just for dating, but even leaving them in a car while an older couple went to a return visit.

I went to an amusement park once with a big group of witnesses. The mother of one of my friends was there chaperoning us. I remember her jumping all over this one young couple who walked a away for a couple of minutes because they could have used that time to jump behind a bush and have sex.
What kind of a pervert would imagine couples having sex in an amusement park with families and children walking all around?
This woman loved to chaperone. She was one of those sisters who was always overly interested in what us teens were doing or thinking. She was forever talking to us about cute boys in the hall. I didn't really think much of it then but now as a stepmother of two teenagers, I find her behavior rather bizarre.

I can't believe they had the nerve to come back!!!
by Why Georgia injust officially finished my christmas shopping and came home to drop everything off before i had to go pick up our oldest son at kindergarten.. i ran out to check the mail before leaving and 2 elders were walking up our steps.. one of them has been to our house before and he is the same one who did the despicable funeral talk at my husbands grandmothers funeral.. the conversation goes:.
i called the wts legal office and your organisation has been informed that if you come to our home, call or send us mail you will be trespassing and it will be considered a form of harrassment and i will call the police.. elder bw - we came to see if ________ was home so we could speak to him about his intentions?.
me - unlike you, my husband actually works for a living, he's at work like most decent people during the day!
