Someone told me that there was a Kingdom Ministry within the last 2 years that said something along the lines of "JWs should follow what the WT or FDS says and not the Bible". Is that true? And if so, could someone point me to a copy of it? Thank you!

Interesting Thought about JW's and People Outside the Org
by Mrs. Witness inon another thread, aude sapeare said:.
jws make this huge assumption that once you leave the 'protection' of the org, you will go off the deep end and become totally irresponsible, drink, smoke, do drugs and have sex with anyone and anything.. that is what i have been fighting with my husband about for 3 years now.
when he was kicked out of his jw's mom's house when he was 15, that is exactly what he did for about 20 years.

Saoirse, I agree, but try telling that to a JW who thinks that if he leaves the religion, he has no other choice but to sink into depravity. To him, all JW's are good people (even when I point out to him that there are some questionable people in his congo) and all worldly people are not to be trusted (even me--his wife).
I don't even know what to tell you to do about someone who is that blinded. Even when I was a JW, I could see that there were hypocrites in the congregation. It must be difficult at times to live with someone like that. I'm sorry you have to deal with that.

Being an ex-JW only means that you're an ex-JW. Some ex-JWs go off the deep end but there are plenty that attempt to live decent, moral lives. On the flip side, there are many JWs that are hypocrites and live double lives. You have to look at the person, not what religion they are or aren't.

Being Under Cult Mind Control is a Psychological Disorder - Steve Hassan
by flipper inthought perhaps some newer members who haven't heard some of hassan's thoughts on mind control might relate to this from their own experiences in jehovah's witnesses .
even though mind control is initiated by the cult involved in controlling it's members - hassan points out - it actually becomes a psychological disorder which can entrap the victim himself or herself - all the while - as they are being controlled by the leaders of cults.. on page 55 of hassan's book " releasing the bonds - empowering people to think for themselves " it states what happens in a destructive cult , " in a destructive cult, the locus of control shifts to the group or it's leader .
the new recruit abdicates his ability to make decisions.

I just don't bother with them- don't need that negative influence in my life. I consider it THEIR loss , not mine. It's how I deal with it and stay strong.
Thank you Flipper. You seem like a good-hearted person and it's a real shame that the JWs are trash-talking you too. I guess it's inevitable when you leave the borg. We pretty much have little to nothing to do with our JW relatives. Unfortunately, the gossip always seems to get back to us - our families & social circle are just too big I guess. Maybe I should ask my friends not to tell me everything they hear. I'm sure they mean well but I don't need to keep hearing the negative stuff. At this point, it's not like it's a surprise or anything. You're right, it's THEIR loss. Take care..

Sister "Elly" vanishes
by MinisterAmos inmy daughter is 18 and goes to meetings from time-to-time basically to mess with the dubs (she always wears mini-skirts) and keep up on gossip....she actually filled me in on this but i find it amusing.. sister "elly" (we'll just call her that) the buxom vixen of our spanish congo suddenly stopped showing up to meetings.
my curiosity became aroused when not one single person asked her mom about her!.
her mom and step-dad are super-dubs, the kind who take it personally if a child draws pictures during the meeting rather than sit ram-rod straight, if a bro uses the john more than once, or if a sister "forgets" her hose.

Turns out Lil Sister's Black non-Dub boyfriend already knocked 'er up! He is currently in jail so no support there. Sister Elly was quietly disassociated and her Mom threw both her and her grand-child to be out of the house to avoid bad association.
That's so awful. I hope that poor girl found someone to take her in. I hate to think of her being pregnant and out on the streets.

FMW, Barbara Anderson (andersoninfo) was in the Writing Dept and she used to post here. Not sure if she still posts but you can still look her up . You can also google Jay Hess ( I think he has something posted on MM Outreach) and Bill Cetnar. Bill was in the Service Dept but he used to answer the letters that came in. He died a few years ago but his wife, Joan, still carries on his work. I'm know there are more but I can't think of their names at the moment.

For the most part, I believe that the elders and congregation members are just . But I have a hard time believing that some in the upper echelon of the Society don't know that they are deceiving people. The fact that they omit certain scriptures or books of the bible from their WT articles and their frequent use of "..." makes me believe that there's some blatant deception going on. Since the writing dept. does so much research, it's no coincidence that so many former members of the writing dept have left the WT. You really have to wonder about the GB and the writers that remain.

Will Michael Jacksons Mom be DF'd ???
by tresdecu injackson family to host first christmasmichael jackson's family is to hold christmas celebrations for the first time this year (09) - putting their own religious beliefs aside for the superstar's three children.. the jacksons were all brought up as jehovah's witnesses, a christian-based religion which does not recognise birthdays or christmas.
but the thriller hitmaker deviated from his family's belief system and always enjoyed the holiday season with prince michael, 12, paris, 11, and seven-year-old prince michael ii.
and family matriarch katherine jackson, who has full custody of the kids, is determined to put their former traditions aside in december (09) to keep the youngsters' lives as normal as possible.

I'm just happy to hear that the Jackson family is doing what they can to make life as normal as possible for those kids.
