Faith has yet to prove itself any further than beleif in Santa Claus. Ain't trying to be funny, faith is just that. Stubbornness and bold claims without suffecient evidence or reason seem to be the only retort to the claim that faith is not suffecient, neccissary, or realistic.

by it's arrogance it becomes mutually exclusive of any other religion.
when one steps back they can see that the contradiction of one religion over the others is a proof that they all must be wrong.

You do not have to ascribe to a whole of something just because you agree with a part. That's way too black and white.

The most monumental conversation with my mom and dad.

i've been heavily emotional lately because of the katrina disaster and my temper and sadness and all emotions have just been on a rise lately.
well my dad was noticing that i was frowning so my father got sort of angry with me and demanded that i stop.

Thanks again for all the support everybody. Carmel, I have been planning my escape for quite a while now but I just mostly need money to support myself which I'm trying to get from the different jobs I'm applying to. The main thing that my parents can use against me is my emotions. Every time they talk about "the world" being a terribly bad place with disease and death and nothing but that, sometimes it's hard to refute. I mean now it's easier than it use to be, but them keeping me so sheltered kind of made me only see the bad in everything. I know that there are people who care about me but... I dunno demons still pop up even in a somewhat reasonable mind. Just can't shake em. But besides that, I'm freer than ever now. Even though I'm not physically all that free, mentally I have a large load off of me and I love it.

") he has told me a few times that if i have any objections to it i can freely point them out.
well, at first i saw this to be the opportunity to do research, back track the numerable names that they drop in this book, and show the logical fallacies used to support the prevailing theme of intelligent design in the book.

Those are wise words Cygnus. I have already found one thing that is laughably flawed in this book. They mention a man named Maciej Giertych. They only named him when they were talking about millions of knowledgeable and respected scientists believe and the funny thing is, he's not a physicist. He's not a genetists or even a biologist. He was a tree physiologist speaking about an area he has no credentials in. All we have to go by is the possibility that he might have had some genetist friends or read a few science magazines in that area. So ya, the thing is bull, I just don't know if I should put all this damning evidence forth to my parents.

I’ve already done a little extra research into the book and found many logical fallacies, and incredible scientists that they used to support their claims. I was just wondering if you guys know anything about the creator book that might help me out a bit and if it’s a good idea to bring up all of these things to refute this book (and practically their way of life).

Thanks again folks. My parents are mostly in a supportive mode but I still dislike that it will be practically the exact same as before, only that I have a lot of mental pressure off of me.
I made sure never to get baptised jaffacake from when I was around 12. Just couldn't be disfellowshipped like that, so they can talk with the elders all they want, they can do just as much as my next door neighbor. And thanks everybody for saying that I am smart (Not looking for sympathy but I just plain don't see it). The more I look and learn the more I realise I don't know. Guess that makes me smart.
