i have dsl with verizon but their isp side (third party) email accounting and third party billing sucks, having charged me for $400 for some glitch in their system a year ago (totally not my fault) and then they shut me down for not paying it.
their system has too many bureaucrats and nothing seems to happen.
what do you guys find to be a good isp?

i'm sure there has already been a thread started to pose this question.
however, i'm curious as to a specific aspect of this thought.
there have been various threads started inquiring about specific miracles performed by god.
Hi Sunstarr,
A God, who could create the universe, would of course, be far beyond our ability to identify with and beyond our understanding.
I try sometimes to get some idea of the reasons for things by trying to imagine I could create small robots, (we could do that) then program the robots to be a certain way, but, giving them the ability to decide many things for themselves.
I might have a definite direction I want the robot population to go, but some of the robots rebel; they somehow acquire the ability to change their programming and go in an entirely different direction than I had hoped.
We could, of course, put sensors into these robots to imitate feeling etc. The robots could develop a form of love for fellow robots. If I decided, as their “creator”, to deactivate one of the rebel robots I would know exactly how to do it. I would know the entire make-up of the robot and how to deactivate it without causing what might be considered cruelty by the other robots.
The other robots would not have my knowledge of that, or, my knowledge of computers, electronics, and a vast amount of information, they would no doubt consider me cruel. This scenario could go on for a very long time, but I think it helps in trying to understand some things.
In the real world though, the Almighty God, who would create the universe, would be far superior to us than the scenario of the robots and me.

we had a post going recently about slave reparations in the united states.
it led to some pretty heated and interesting discusions from all sides.
at one point i pointed out that more people are enslaved today than at any time in history (twenty seven million).
Hyghlandyr,
It seems pretty obvious that all the noise about slavery in this country is only about MONEY. The shake-down artists like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc. don't seem to care about the slavery in the world today, wonder why? maybe there is just not enough BIG MONEY in Sudan or maybe they know they will not be successful in shaking down the people in those other countries.
They know where the suckers are, in the good ole gullable USA.
Isn't the silence about slavery practiced today a little deafening?
But, I really think the silence speaks volumes.

so instead i listened to that every uplifting ac/dc, metalica, scorpions (still favorites of mine).. the society did release the "kingdom melodies" on tape though and everyone bought the complete set.....did anyone here ever really enjoy that music?
Didn"t they make some films called "Looney Tunes and Kingdom Melodies"?

Xander,
LOL! See, I don't think we are 'rude' so much as 'always in a hurry'.I go through, drive-through, fast food restaurants, about every day, the rudest people at those restaurants, are often also, the slowest.
It is very rare to have an employee at any store etc. to even say "thank you" today.
Also, sorry, I did not want to get too serious on this thread. So about your quote regarding "whiners" I think that is a @$^@*%$! rude quote.

I do agree there is much more anti-american sentiment here than there is in the US for Canadians. Rudeness and arrogance doesn't sit well with Canadians and neither does the threat of us losing our identity as Canadians to the US
That is one outstanding thing I noticed last time I was in St. Jacobs. The politeness of the people. I told the waitress in a restaurant that I had not been treated so politely (in the US) since I was a child. It was really refreshing.

ok, heres my question for all the ex-elders out there.. it will be announced thursday that my niece will be disfellowshipped.. the circumstances are not important to this discussion, but she is .
remorseful for her actions and has taken steps so it will not happen again.
she actually made a lot of sacrifices to try to make her mistake right.
Hi Blindfool,
Or, how about the WTs purple KI version;

ok. just read the thread on the "special talk" today and how they mentioned apostates.. well, that explains why i had such a painful conversation today with my sister-in-law.
she called to let me know that she and her mother had reached a painful decision today....to abide by the shunning rule.
up until today, we had a great relationship....everything was fine.
One of my favorites is printed and distributed by Personal Freedom Outreach, PO Box 26062, St. Louis, Mo. 63136. It is a folded flyer making it 4 pages. I will only do the front page. It is called “A Gospel Test For Jehovah’s Witnesses” I am doing this on word, it may not come out the way the flyer is, but you will get the idea.
Please select the correct answer:
1.The Watchtower Gospel preached by millions of Jehovah’s Witnesses door-to-door is:
() The re-establishment of God’s Kingdom with Christ’s second presence commencing in 1914.
() The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
2.The Gospel believed and preached by born-again Christians is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When compared with the Gospel preached by Jehovah’s Witnesses, it is shown to be:
() The same Gospel.
() A different Gospel.
3.The Gospel received by the Apostle Paul, which he passed on, by which we are saved, (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) is:
() The re-establishment of God’s Kingdom with the second presence of Christ.
() The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
4.The Watchtower’s Gospel and the Apostle’s Gospel are:
() The same gospel.
() A different Gospel.
5.The Apostle Paul emphasizes that the result of preaching a different Gospel (Galatians 1:8,9) will be:
() Everlasting life.
() Everlasting condemnation.

The only factor causing any separation for irish people was their inherited catholicism, not SKIN color. Irish people are WHITE, and anglo-saxon like their northern european conterparts. No matter how much you would like us to believe that poor innocent irish immigrants were of a different color, they were NOT. White is white.
I have heard, for a very long time, the argument that the persecution of black people was because of the color of their skin. I seriously doubt that argument is valid. Most white people would love to have dark skin and they spend vast amounts of time and money to darken their skin.
Whatever negative feelings I may have toward the black race is not skin color. I went through school with a large percentage of black students. I personally did not see any worse treatment directed at black kids by white kids than I saw from black kids directed at white kids.
I was once very supportive of black people and defended them at times. But,when the black "leaders" started demanding special rights and money, when quotas requiring so many blacks in EVERY movie, tv show, every employment area, etc, etc. started, even though many black people may not have been a part of those demands, they were still happy to benefit from them, when black people refuse to be a part of this country in their behavior, speech, etc., but instead would like to destroy everything "white", I changed a lot of my attitudes.
