SYN,
Borgfree says he doesn't want to answer some simple questions!
I have reread all of my posts on this thread and do not see where I said what you claim I said.

no that is not a description of a piece of rear-anatomy (i don't want to get booted again <g>).
rather it is the rage now.... please check out http://www.leftbehind.com/ and take a look.
the reason i bring this up is because 3 different people i know (not xjws) are all into this "stuff" now.

Xander,
First, thank you
Okay, I'm going to try and hijack this thread, because I seem to have found another 'true believer'.
I do take that as a compliment.
I got involved in a debate on evolution some months ago on this board. It is a never ending debate and one that cannot be proved one way or the other by science, I believe.
I am a little late in getting ready now, so I will have to end at this point. When I get to work, and as time permits, I will try to give you some answer.
My apologies GraveDancer, it was not my intention to highjack your thread.

Hi FriendlyFellaAL,
Sorry for not answering right away, this is the time of day when I start getting ready for work, etc.
I will check the site you mentioned. There are not several kinds of Christianity, only different kinds of people who chose to interpret the bible their own way. I would not claim to have "the inside track" to understanding God's word, I try to believe exactly what is written, where possible, and not make "hard line" decisions where the bible is not clear.
I do not know any Christian who thinks Christians should take personal action against any non-Christian, other than stating God's word. There are some, using the banner of Christianity, who blow up buildings, etc. I do not find support in the words of Jesus Christ for those actions.
SpiceItUp,
I think the movie you refer to is called "Rapture" I saw the movie.
Nowhere is it taught in scripture to kill your child so that the child will make it into heaven. I thought the movie was unscriptural and had to be made by someone who is not, or was not, a Christian.

SS,
I do indeed believe that homosexuals are breaking God's laws. I think that at one time you believed that also.
Homosexuals already have the same rights as everyone else. I think there are a couple of exceptions, marriage being one, but that could be a very long debate, one which has probably already been done here before.
As to whether homosexuals have a right to live or not, that is not in my hands to decide, that is for God to decide. I am thankful I do not have that responsibility.
I do not quite get how you jump from those stated facts, to,
Therefore, groups like yourself would deny that homosexuals have the right to live as homosexuals? So, you don't really believe in rights for everyone?
I personally agree that no one has the "right" to break God's laws, but, God has not chosen to make me His "enforcer", something I am very thankful for.
I do not chose to fight against homosexuals, I do not hate them or wish harm on them. I have an obligation, as a Christian, to point out the errors of the homosexual life, that it is against the law of God, the consequences of breaking God's laws I gladly leave in His hands.

They firmly believe in "traditional" family values and all that go along with it, i.e.; no rights for homosexuals, anti-abortion, etc.
That statement is not true. That kind of mis-representation is real propaganda.
Christians believe in rights for everyone. We do not believe in "special" rights, or extra rights, for certain people or groups of people.
I do not personally know Tim LaHaye or the others involved in the "Left Behind" series, but I am sure none of them wish harm on any person. Christians see the agenda of some groups and how they try to become "mainstream" through tactics of lies, propaganda, etc. If you are a bible believer, you know God condemns the "behavior" of people breaking His laws, He loves the person. Christians try to imitate Him.

a lot of people here are laughing.

Ok Dacke,
So that I do not take this thread into a different direction I will not give further examples.
I will say, however, that you should know I was born into the JWs, I was a firm believer for almost 54 years. You may not have any idea of all that I have seen. I don't think "paranoid" would explain my disgust and anger for the harm the WT has done to me and my family and to many others.

Dacke,
I fail to see where we are "entering different territory here" The case I related is a case of "abuse" and the elders orders to keep it secret. Sounds like the same old story to me.
If a person was under the influence of mind-control would he/she know it?
My answer is simple, all, or almost all, JWs are under the influence of mind-control. In my daughters case, I must take a large share of the blame for teaching her to trust a corporation that uses such tactics.

Dacke,
Your comment:
If I was in that situation, I wouldn't hesitate for a MOMENT to go to the Police.
Makes me remember how many times I have heard a JW make that kind of a statement after the Watchtower Corporation has changed their prouncement on a matter.
I was involved in a matter once, where my daughter went to her elders for help concerning her husbands physical abuse. Nothing was done, except, she was warned not to tell her father or mother about it or action would be taken against her.
She is still a loyal JW who will now have nothing to do with me. Interesting how well mind control works.

guess i hadn't been paying "close attention" at the meetings a few years ago......apparently, jesus is not the mediator between god and men like the bible says, he's only the mediator between the 144,000 and jehovah - i guess the rest of us can go straight to hell in a handbasket...... .
how long has this bizarre theory been around??!!
i was absolutely stunned to hear this one, as i had never heard it before.
You may be right Blondie,
I have had some "brothers" say some stupid things to me in the past, I do not know where they got their information. I did not, I should say, follow the counsel, I kept using Father. No elder ever approached me with further counsel, so, I don't know what the whole story was.
I notice that your quote, the second one, is from 1974, I think the case I referred to was before that date.
I will mention also, that when I started realizing just how much Jesus had done for us, and how he must have been more than we believed, that was when, I think, my eventual exodus from the WT began.

Hi Gopher,
I take it the "brother" who "counselled" you maybe didn't like you very much?
That's probably true, I was somewhat of a rebel and "troublemaker"
I think their idea is that the bible is written only to the 144,000 anyway, so certain things in the bible do not apply to the GC. They can of course use that to their benefit anytime they want, and then, beat the GC with the bible anytime they want too. They can have it both ways.
