there has been some post made here to this discussion board that have been completely out of context to this discussion board, some of them had really irritated me to an extent that i said some pretty bad things to certain individuals.
it has weighed on my conscience for some time amd today especially.

Actually there is one in the town where I live, she has been elected several times to city council. I guess I am not quite accurate, she is not an ex, she is still considered a JW, no action has been taken against her.

I have to ask a question. What did you expect? You knew the rules. You knew what happens when you leave, at least I did, so why are you shocked? If you get even a modicum of recognition afterwards, you should be grateful. After all, when you leave, they owe you nothing, and you know it. When you were a true believer, you would have done the same thing that was done to you, so why are you surprised?
When I was a practicing JW, and believed their teachings, yes, I did expect to be treated like that, and I accepted it as correction from God, no problem, but, when I actually did research and found that I was lied to and deceived, then chose to leave that false religion, I do not and will not accept their disgusting rules and behavior.

when i got home from work last night my son was there and i was suprise to see him because it was meeting night and everyone else was gone.
then his mother comes in hmmmmmm "did your son tell you what he has done?

Just wanted to add my 2. I agree strongly with SixofNine. Never let your son go into a committee meeting without you being there too. Actually, I would not let him meet with the elders at all, he is not baptized and there is no obligation for him to take their crap.
I have a daughter who was involved in an incident once, where an older well respected JW, was passing beer to another table, he handed the beer to my daughter (in a Pizza Hut) and my daughter passed the beer on to the person it was intended for. This called for a committee meeting for all involved, the elder didn't seem to like it, but I would not let my daughter go into that meeting unless I was there with her. They took no action against her.
