I actually found a website about themn a while back. It had their creed as well as pictures from their conventions in Romania. They sound kinda freaky to me. Unfortunately, I can't find the site now.

For me, I never really saw racisim in the org. But what pisses me off is that we were always told that witnesses had NEVER had racist views. They practiced segregation only because the law required it. But they NEVER taught that one race was superior to another. But surprise, they DID. Just another lie.

Witness School
by loosie inhas anyone here ever gone to a witness school.
you know the school jw's set up to keep their kids separate from the world.
you would have the daily text every morning and of course a kingdom song had to be sung.. i'd love to hear your experiences.

Witness schools were vehemently condemned by the elders in our locality. They said that interaction with non witneses would strengthen a youth's resolve. They said that going to an all witness was a cop out and that only worldly witnesses would go to one.

If there's some good in the Watchtower, why leave it?
by AlmostAtheist inthe post about crisis of conscience in which the poster said he knows there's some bad in the watchtower (as brought out in coc), but there's some good in it too got me to wondering about people that stay for the good in it.. the united states makes some decisions as a country that i don't agree with, perhaps even object strongly to.
but i don't disavow my citizenship.
it's mostly a good place to live, so i stay.. if you want to live in a way that utterly conflicts with the watchtower -- homosexual, multiple sex partners, smoking, whatever -- then you have reason to leave.

I left because I just do not agree with the theology. I do happen to be gay, but if I bought all of their beliefs and accepted the Bible as the inerrant word of God, I would've continued to try to stifle those feelings as I had done all along anyway.
But I still feel that if being a Witness makes a person happy, if they agree with the basic teachings, if it gives them a purpose in life, then they should be a witness...the same way I feel about being a Mormon, Baptist, or whatever else

How can I prove to my wife the WT false prophecy quotes are real?
by The Leological One in.
my wife's just started reading through a list of false prophecies, and i'm wondering how i can prove these quotes are real and not just put up by people who hate the wt?
the ones dealing with 1925~!

Most witnesses blindly follow the dictates of the society. ANy one who points out errors is an apostate and should be iggnored. People with an open mind do not need it "proved" as all they have to do is read it for themselves and they''' recognize it for what it is.

I enjoyed it. I did not always like doing the KM suggested presentations, but I did enjoy the ministry.

2005 District Assemblies?
by lovinglife indoes anyone know when they will annouce where the 2005 district assemblies, i mean conventions will be?
my sister and i were talking yesterday and we were surprised that they hadn't posted anything on there website and i hadn't seen anything on here either...reason being she makes up her son's visitation schedule for the summertime with his father and wanted to make it so that he wasn't there for that week when there convention is...hehehehe...she's does that for the past 2 years.
she said it seemed kinda late that they hadn't announced anything...we were kidding around and hoping, "hey, maybe there out going to have them anymore; just more circuit assemblies instead.

I WENT TO THE MEMORIAL LAST NIGHT.....
by Mary inand i think that the wts's "waters are drying up".
we had two congregations meet and the hall still wasn't full!
i noticed a change in the talk from last year.

My question is this, the last memorial I attended in Texarkana had James Simcox as the speaker. He gave the memorial talk at Central Cong and then came to the Arkansas Cong and gave the talk there. At both halls he was passed the emblems. So did he break the rules by observing it twice in one year?
And, since he was such a stickler for details, even making us replace the wallpaper in our new hall (it had the fleu de leis on it--he said it was a ccatholic symbol), how could he overlook his celebrating the memorial twice?

Didn't anyon ever know witnesses that did nice things with no strings attached?
I recall once I was with an elderly pioneer sister in service. We called on a poor family whose young daughter was in the hospital. That afternoon Lola went and visited the little girl and took her some hair bows and a stuffed animal. She did not share any literature or scriptures or anything. She just showed neighborly compassion.
Also, when my worldly grandmother died, the local congrgation prepared a covered dish dinner for her family, which included only three active witnesses, even though the dinner was going to be held in the fellowship hall of my grandmother's church
