MY LETTER of disassociation from JWD

decades ago, when my brother was a teenager and i a young 20 something year old full of the truth, he got disfellowshipped for inappropriate behavior with his 17-year old girlfriend.

he cried.

journey~on~ You know a lot of us associate with ones that are not on the board for now outside of JWD. There are other forms of communication other than this forum. Email, phone, Fest...etc. And well yeah, sometimes it sucks, but I have been a risk of having duct tape slapped on my mouth a few times. It did not stop me from living in 'real' life and visiting with the friends I made. You know? Heck, I have even seen kicked off ones make up and come back. You never know. Life evolves all the time and so do circumstances. Just a thought.

Things added by some of those people gone are still here and helping others and well, invaluable. I think a lot of people have maybe gone through what you are feeling. But if we all pack up our toys and go home. Who gets help?

Maybe find a LASTING solution before the problem? Or an amendment? I don't know. But we all miss some posters, and many keep in close contact with several. I agree with Seeker4's comment. And add...did you ask Simon? Maybe taking a stand without posing a problem and waiting for a response, is presenting a problem and not letting and answer be reached. Maybe I am off...but maybe you should talk with the powers that be?

now i hate to sound as add as i am, but usually if i read something twice i can make myself focus if i am wandering.

but everytime i start to read anything that has something to do with the wtbts i cannot get it even after repeated attempts.

it is as if charlie browns mom is right in my ear and my mind will not register.

OMG I just had a thought. If we were at a meeting...Right about now they would ask a question and we could all raise our hands and say "Jehovah" and be right. OR, just start clapping and be in better standing. Volume and Pausing everyone.

now i hate to sound as add as i am, but usually if i read something twice i can make myself focus if i am wandering.

Whew! I was getting a cold sweat there for a moment.

Glad to know I am not the only one. With anything else I can usually pull it together and shake my head a bit and make myself concentrate. But as WTWizard put it, "doctrinal" stuff. I'm outti! I cannot even make my brain concentrate. I manage to pay attention if someone teaches me something new like a different teaching or how they believe. Example budhism or just talking to someone. But you hand me a watchtower and I glaze like a donut. Damdest thing.

OK. Cool. Thanks TinyDancer, Hillbilly and Satanus. Feeling better now. Cuzz being Add is bad enough without doing this checking out completely thing and I have been a bit timid to speak up because I have not been able to figure it out myself yet. Usually when I get it figured out I am all about talking about it. But this has had me stumped. I could not figure out if it was normal for me to be sitting here stuck on stupid when I see people running circles with these discussions.

You know...The same thing happens with other things I have burned out on. I hate to claim them, but having let myself burn on a few subjects that I was a wiz at...you bring them up to me now...blank page. I think I am learning and acknowledging my boundaries. This is good. I really was wondering about the JW stuff though. Because having met so many EX JW people, I hate that I just glaze over on half of what is said.

I was just trying to read the thread on the daily text. I thought to myself this would be funny. And my eyes won't even see it. I tried. But I guess I have no tolerance. Or this huge mental block. It is as if any thread that quotes the scriptures, Bible, especially the Society just shuts my brain down. I have noticed this for a while now. Quite a while now...But I guess today I thought I would just open up and ask about it.

Does anyone else completely close off as if suddenly there is not a sound, thought, anything registering as they try to read. That is how it is for me. I hear the plane passing overhead, or my own thoughts as I think to myself...WTF are they talking about, or is this English? Am I supposed to read this sentence 5 times? I don't know, It is frusterating when I want to join a discussion. So mostly I join in on ones I don't have to read a lot of Documentation from the JW's anymore because my mind cannot wrap around it. I cannot even get on the same page as them when it comes to the thought process. Truly the closest I have come as of late was watching a you tube of a poor girl who lost her mom via shunning and I understood her plight and it moved me to tears. Also one guy speaking of talking to JW's about Christ at the doors. But if I even scan through the articles my bro tries to show me or get his point..he is so off I don't even get him anymore.

Is this what it is like to be free of their chains? Do they just not register on your give a damn scale anymore?

Wife Update...

for those that remember my wife was attacked and nearly raped back in march.

yesterday, was the preliminary hearing for the "alleged" attacker.

my wife had to relive that morning in front of that bastard once again.

Baba, Six and Hal9000~ It just made me hug them close tonight. Just hug them close. I cannot even wrap my mind around it. I bet when they are clean.... They won't be able to either. That is what is messed up about it all.

There are monsters out there. They look like you and I. They are there all the same. Just catch it on the wrong day. You know? I keep telling her. Everyone keeps telling her. Maybe these kids around here for a few days will possibly wake up a bit. I don't want this to be what it takes. But hopefully, they will at least for a while think a bit safer. You never know.

My daughter got to go tonight with her friend out. One of the first times since she has been back home so I was very nervous. Anyhow, she called home. Once, twice and was very attentive. She had heard a story/news clip that happened in the neighborhood and was very sick about it. I think it made her understand a bit more what I am so worried about and that it is not on the other side of the world that these things happen. She seems really upset by this and the girl in this clip according to my daughter has a face that just looks like she was deep.

Funny thing is my brother had called today and asked me if the event in town had scared my daughter straight (on a voice mail) I did not know what he was talking about, and did not get back to him. Now I do. Oddly enough, she got it from even a better source, someone that is not just another authority figure in her life giving a lecture. I thinkit hit home a little.

Nicest Fathers Day for a Mother

i got the nicest card from my teen daughter who is adapting very well to her being back.

(thank goodness) .

it had a quick explaination how i had done all the father job in the house and so this card although it said fathers day on it was for me.

Thanks Changling, Baba, Sweetface and Hubert! It was a good day. Despite I about got into a fight at the concert. My daughter did find that funny tho that I go to an "old people" concert and about get into a fight! lol She even text during the middle of the concert to find out if anyone needed help with the old geezers!
