  I'm doomed. There is not one career I can make money at unless I become a famous writer at some point.

  Awww, wings...that's not entirely true. Are you happy with what you're doing now? Are you feeling like there is something lacking? What are your dreams when it comes to careers? If you're happy where you are at, this is just a guide to help people figure out what they want...like me.

  Mine is teaching. I love to teach what I learn. In fact, I worked with a Cambodian lady years ago and helped her learn English so she can know her rights and get a green card/divorce her abusive husband/and take back her life. When I met her she was only in the States for a few years and didn't know any English. That experience drove me to want to teach because I got such a high on that one little experience.

  Teachers can make pretty good money. Of course Psychologists/Psychiatrists make much more but it does require work and determination to get there.

  Why not write a book? Take some classes and learn creative writing. Those classes are very fun (IMO) and will teach you how to get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper.

  Hell, I may end up putting all three of my likes into one career and become a writer for a Psychology course teaching college students...lol...who knows.

  I reckon that must be the most accurate description I've ever found of myself.

  Same here too. Even some of the tests my class have us to do wasn't as close to being this accurate in their description. I was impressed.

  Did you know that they also changed the law this January, so that women who have credit linked to their husbands, will no longer be able to use that as a link to their own credit.

  So...does it also apply to the husbands taking the bad credit back to them since they are not linked and the wife's credit is then turned back to good? I have a feeling not...

  I do have a very strong dislike of those that blame the evil credit cards for the problems they have when they are unable to keep up with the bills.

  I agree that this country has way too many credit cards. Credit cards can help you...or they can harm you.

  Give ya an example.

  I talked with a financial counselor and he told me in order to rebuild my credit back, I'll need to get a small credit card ($300-$500) and make a few charges and make payments. He told me by making the payments and not paying it totally off would be recorded on my credit report and will give me a chance to prove I can keep up with a debt. I'll need to do this for 6 months to a year to make this work. Of course, this isn't going to happen right now since I'm personally not in a position to take on a credit card payment. Later, I may very well get a card to rebuild things.

  It can harm you because if you should happen to lose your job and have a few credit cards, then you're screwed and your credit score starts going down quickly.

  I hate the “poor me the marketing machine got me” attitude, no one makes you use credit cards

  Well, yes and no...yes the "trap" is in having to build up credit somehow and convinces a person to get a card in the first place...and no, a person could save up money to get a house instead of using credit.

  My parents have a perfect credit score...this is because they have never owned a credit card or got themselves into debt. Now they are wanting to purchase a small house but they can't since they don't have "proof" they can handle a loan. It's a trap yet a nice tool if things go right and it's been used properly.

  Again, not everyone gets credit cards when they can't afford them...some get them when they have a nice job and things are going well and wham!, they lose their job. They may complain because Credit Card companies tend to not want to work with you. If you're even a day late no matter what the reason, they can and most time do charge and arm and a leg.

  and I’m pretty sure all companies disclose all their fees up front, so how can you blame them for charging you when you know what being late will cost you upfront? How can you blame a company for trying to make money?

  This is true...but sometimes when a person sign up they can agree to those terms then something happens to their job, that card will start building up in charges.

  I never called anyone lazy or a deadbeat, I simply said that there are far too many Americans who use their cards and then bitch about it when they can’t pay and I for one have no sympathy for them or their “plight”

  I didn't say you called anyone lazy...I said the tone of your writing is coming off that way. If that's not your intent, I apologize for reading it that way.

  What is the update on the living wage vs. the minimum wage?

  Don't know about "living" wages...just know that minimum is at $6.75 or something like that and is suppose to go up this year to $7? I thought I read that on the Better Business poster.

  FF: These tests are widely used by big coorporations in the hireing process. They are also trusted in the mental health profession. They have proven to be accurate and have stood the test of time.

  That's cool...I haven't really had time to research this test or where it started...and this is the first I've heard about it. I take that back, I do remember reading something in my Psychology book about the Myers-Briggs...but they've just highlighted over it. They may go into detail since we're doing lots of personality/empathy/ect. test lately.

  Doing this test makes me feel more confident on the career choices I've chosen.

  Do you seriously think that my age disqualifies me from having an opinion

  No, it doesn't disqualify you..but the opinions are coming off as if the rest of us that are having trouble are "dead beat" or lazy. We're working just as hard as you and the rest that are not having financial troubles. When you were going through those tough times..weren't you living tight? Didn't you have to work to pull yourself out? It took time to dig out of that hole. You should be proud of yourself for getting where you are. We are also working to get where you are and it's going to take time.

  Personally, I'm very proud of what I've accomplished so far but the facts are, I'm still living very tight and it is a tough time making ends meet. I'm tight because of a life changing situation...not because I don't know how to be frugal.

  Then I have to start repaying student loans on my 9 an hour job!

  Yep...and six months is all you get, if you're not into your next degree they will start making you pay it back and loans are ended.
