though, isn't it "illegal" the same as driving the car a bit over the speed limit?.
I did not think I would be the "worrying" over my kids type of mother before I had kids.
I would always say "yeah, sure, I'd let them do just about anything" prior to having children.
This reminds me (again) of a comic strip from a paper years ago about a young lady giving advice to a mother stating that they would do this or that...the mother responded "the best parenting comes BEFORE having children"....LOL... I so understand it now.

Don't get me wrong...I AM taking them on July 4th for the parade/games/fun/and fireworks but where they shoot them off in a certain field and by professionals...
I'm a bit sad because I don't want to be a "party pooper" for my kids...though at the same time I'm really nervous about the friend that is going to be setting them off...and not being licensed or professionally trained.
I just don't want my kids to feel like their mom is being over paranoid and prevent them from doing fun things.
The movie is a good idea...(though, granted, not as "fun")

Two things are happening into my brain. I don't want my kids to be hurt in anyway but never had been around this kind of fireworks display (mainly because of the Borg). I want to take my kids but at the same time not sure if it's wise.
My kids are only 10 and 3 and I've been having a bit of "panic" feelings as the time gets closer.
My son is a bit disappointed because ultimately I've decided to pass it up and just take them to the real fireworks with professionals handling them and at the same time at a distance.
Is my mother instinct kicking in too much and I'm overreacting or is my instincts telling me right?

i've been trying to quit with a cigarette brand called quest and i'm on level 1 at the moment.
it still has the unhealthy carcinogens but each level brings down the nicotine and hopefully by the 3 and last stage, the person can break the habit.. with the e cigarette, it's supposed to do the same except it only has nicotine and no tar/carcinogens and other harmful stuff.
Believe it or not my adult daughters co-worker buys her cigs at a health food store!
I couldn't stop laughing when she told us that. I don't remember the name of them but they seem to like the taste. (Her and her Mother).

Oh, I can believe it... The health food store here sells beer and wine. Kind of a strange thing to sell in a health food store...beer??? Was it suppose to be made with certain herbs that is less harmful? That's sort of what they were trying to do with the beer, take out the additives so it's "more" healthy...doesn't make it healthy though.
I'm on chantix and so far it's working.
Though, isn't chantix very expensive...like $200 per 60 pills?

I have never seen this and think its pretty cool. I've tried the patch/gum/mint but neither works for me because I need to hold something in my hand. I know that it's psychological but still it IS a problem for me.

An average cow weighs about 300kg. In the farm, there are 251 female cows in which 76 are pregnant and 78 calves with only 2 bulls which add up to a total of 331 cows in the farm. as a jw we were always told worldly people were bad always out for what they could get out of you.
as for me iv'e made some good friends not anything as bad as the jw's said they woul'd be.

My JW family decided to "kick" me out of their network of association several years ago even though I'm not DF'd or DA'd. The friend that I thought was my best friend dropped me cold turkey when she found out I had questions about the organization. I've been through many hard times and guess who allowed me to cry on their shoulder? Not my family or JW friends...but it was my non JW friends.
In fact, I have one good friend that is Catholic and she took me under her wing. She's teaching me how to do taxes (she's CPA), helps me with my college assignments, pushes me to stay in college, work things out so I can bring my credit up again, and teaches me how to love again. I'm going to her house to help her peal potatoes for her daughter's graduation. I call her my "adopted" mom. Sad to say, she treats me so much better than my real parents ever did.
So to answer, my non JW friends are so much better than my JW friends ever were. Non JW's tend to truly care and with no pretense.
