I remember when I was pregnant with Zach, the Dr's said he wasn't there because of an "empty womb"...they were preparing me for a DNC. I was to heartbroken but then they did extra tests and found out he was just a small baby. Believe me, after that, we got a new Dr...LOL

we have a craft store here in the midwest called hobby lobby.
besides the glue and yarn, etc they carry a lot of crosses.
no other religious items just crosses.
We have a Hobby Lobby near us as well and they are closed on Sundays due to the fact of it being a "Christian" craft store...at least that is what one of the workers told me. The other craft stores are open on Sundays.

Wait until you try finding an agent--then your begin to really work.
Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of because I never did get the childs book published for that reason. When I wrote it, it was pure for fun. I was about 16. Reading it again at age 36, it's pretty good and I've thought about publishing it but don't know how to even begin.
Very ambitious! A chapter per week would be a lot. Hats off if you can do it.
BizzyBee, in reality, I don't think it will be a chapter a day...lol...a bit of an exaggeration but I have thoughts, feelings, ideas that keep flooding in my mind that I can't keep up with. This morning, I've been changing things and tweaking the first chapter. I should just start on the second just to get my thoughts down before they go away.

That's good. The standard advice is "don't tell us - show us."
I may show a few chapters just to get a feel for the general responses (sort of like "fresh eyes")...but after that, I'm keeping it quiet only because once I get the difficult parts down (i.e. getting started) I'll get goin' with non-stop and won't want someone else to steal my ideas before I get it completed.
My goal is to write a chapter a day...more if I'm not real busy with my assignments.
I've already written a child's book and only need to get it published. It's very cute and only a few have read it. I wrote it for my brother when he was born.

he has aplastic anemia and only has between 2 and 14 days left to live.
the only treatment for aplastic amenia is bone marrow or cord blood transplant, which we all know he can't have.

For example, she sat up "in sheer panic." Describe that so we feel it, too.
Very good suggestion...it'll make the chapter more meaty and become more visual which is what I'm aiming for. I hate reading books that have blah beginning to them.
I'm aiming for a fantasy feeling with a bit of mystery maybe. It's based on a dream I've had over and over and when I dream this dream, I HATE waking up. I can't describe it right now because it'll spoil the book...lol

Her dreams often start out with her standing in front of an
ordinary house. Things become very strange the moment she turns the cold brass knob on the double wooden door. The creaking, whining of the door was an indication things were about to get interesting.

a little more mysterious or implied something more about what was going to happen...something like, But once the door opened, things would become very, very different.

This is what I was hoping for since it is a start....believe me, there will be more meat to it...it's in my thoughts so strong that I still want to write about it but I'm forcing myself to wait until tomorrow so I won't get burned out on it too quick.
