Are you certain the one(s) who mention janitorial work in this thread are the same one(s) who talk negative about it in those other threads you refer to? Think about it. You may wish to do the right thing -- and I think you know what that is.

I'm not making any nasty remarks. Just stating the truth, on this forum you see people talk down about active jws who are janitors and such. If you don't see that then you must be blind. The ones that don't say that and don't think that way then it doesn't apply to you. I don't need to do the right thing because I don't think like that.

Not that I care what people do in their work or what their businesses are. I personally think that having a cleaning business is fine. I worked for a friend who installed and cleaned carpets for a while. What I find funny is how in this forum doing that type of work by active jws is used in a negative way.
I find thread after thread in this forum about janitor and carpet cleaners jws as this was a bad thing. But its ok to do it now since you're no longer a jw?
i feel very offended and distrurbed when i see people covered with tatoos.
some people have tatoos all over their bodies, even on their faces.
there are also tatoo programs on the tlc channel that children can watch without a forewarning before the show comes on.
When you are in your 80's think how hideous your crinkled old splotched skin will look with those embellishments in indelible ink.
I don't think I would be worrying much about how my tattoos look when in my 80's. If anything that would be the last thing on my mind.
i agree that everyone should have the right to practice thier own religion, as long as it doesn't interfere with another person right to privacy and right to not be harassed in their own home by those who feel they have the better religion.. the door to door work of jws is harassment, when you consider that they call for the most part in the morning, univited to talk about why there religion is the right one and often have very bad things to say about other belief systems, which has the potential of disturbing the peace.

Not once in my life have I seen a mormon or baptist or any other salesperson wear a badge when on my door. As long as we are banning annoying things that bother us, how about banning your post. It annoys me.

Some of you act like you get knocked on your doors weekly or more often. When I was living in the states I would be lucky if they came by once every 6 months or so. I would get more non jws knocking in my door than jws. And all this talk about mormons or baptists wearing badges may be just some trying to sping things. I never remembered any baptists or mormons wearing any badges when they came thru my door. I would even confuse them as jws, only to find out when I talked to them that they were actually baptists.
Why stop there? Lets try and ban all public preaching and any sales or insurance people or anyone that goes door to door, that way we won't get bothered by anyone at anytime. Amazing, some of the hate goes so deep as to try and ban something that would be considered a non issue by most people. If you don't want to be bothered let them know not to call again or put up signs. Or how about not answering your door when they knock? I guess that's too hard to do and its easier to change the laws to ban it.

You're right R6 it is an increase. A pathetic one for all the activity they perform but it is an increase.
Might be a pathetic one, but it still is an increase. A contradiction of this own threads title. Beleive me even if it was shown that there was a decrease on numbers the wts would find a way to spin the situation. Just as much as some here are trying to spin it the other way.
That Armageddon fear is nothing new. Surprised that this tract campaign for the wts is seen by most here as something new. It is not, the wts has always had these campaigns where they denounce every ofther religion and say they will be destroyed along with countless other who don't listen to them. These so called campaigns go back as far as I can remember, and go back as far as my own mother remembers it.
The problem lies with the way the wts goes about saying that the end is near. There's no way to reason around it. I've tried unsuscessfully before, that's why now I just mind my own business. If you mention to a zealous jw how long can the wts keep up with their prediction that the end is near, yet we see no signs of the end even after many years gone by. The zealous ones will say, 'we must wait on Jehovah, for its only him who knows the day.' Then they bring up all this crap about how what to us seems like a long time, to Jehovah is not.
There is absolutely almost no way to get around someone who has been in the cult for some time and actually beleives in it for so long. I just don't waste my time anymore with people like that. Unfortunately, my mother is one of those people, no matter what I say "we must always wait on Jehovah." But I know she has a good heart and really beleives what she tells me. And as far as she is happy I see no reason to try to force the issue any further.

In my opinion it doesn't matter how they got those numbers. Increase is an increase no matter how much spin you want to put on it. I bet its the same way with anything else, you were born a catholic, guess what you will count as a catholic. So of course kids are going to be counted, that's a no brainer.
We all know that the wts will spin this into a good thing and milk it. Even if it goes to negative or no increase I can bet that the WTS will spin it to make it look like the decrease in numbers is due to them being so closes to the end.
No matter what its a no win situation with people in a cult. If one thing happens then its because Jehovah wanted it, if the opposite happens its also because Jehovah let it happen. That's basically the jws way of thinking.

I see one or two jw apologists have tried to put a positive spin on them, but I have news for you boys - we aren't fooled. A friend of mine who is fading was telling me about his wife's verdict on their ca a feww weeks ago - attendance down by around 30%, and only 4
blackmail victimsbaptismal candidates, the oldest of whom was just turned 13, kids of jws in other words.
You don't have to be an apologist to see that a 1.9% increase is just that an increase. The title of this thread is misleading. What I see are a bunch of people who try to spin a positive into a negative. Most are saying how they count bible studies or hours or whatever, in other words making excuses.
As for your example of your fading friend it just goes to prove how much numbers and attendance differ in between places. My mothers congregation is ready to divide again and form another congregation due to the increase in publishers.
The only time when I would be happy is when we finally see 0% increase or an actual decrease in their yearly numbers.

Of course tattoos are a fashion statement. People get them because that is what they feel represent them at that moment. So what's so wrong with making a statement? Nothing. People might judge them differently, as can be seen from some responses from this thread, but who are we to tell someone else what they can do or not do with their own body? If someone feels they want to cover their whole body in tatttoos, that's their decision. Labels are what stupid people make up to explain something they don't understand.
