I'm not alone

for years i have felt i was the only one on earth that was reeling from my involvement with jw.

i stumbled upon this website and feel an overwhelming desire to dance.

i was playing monopoly the other night and reminiscing on the different editions (i have the british, london one) - have played the american one, and various continental, and there are various ''movie'' editions -well, last night as i was playing, i was thinking how much fun a jw one would be....need a bit of input for this... eg, started to snigger when i picked up the ''it's your birthday.....'' i suggest ''it's your birthday, collect a shunning from each player''.

then there's the free parking , err....''free bible study''?

When does the "anger" subside.....?

having never felt "anger" as such toward jws or the organisation myself, it is apparent that many here do.

sometimes just by reading the thread title it is clear in many how they feel, so for more seasoned posters, or maybe those who have been out longer, how long does this anger take to fade, if it ever does.

maybe you never felt like that anyway.

It may better be termed as righteous indignation rather than anger due to the apostasy that permeates the WTBTS. They have a saying, "Don't bring reproach on Jehovah." that describes their actions, attitudes, beliefs and heart condition. Just a group of self serving "righteous" hypocrites that justify themselves by believing that they are "Happy whose God is Jehovah." If they keep the attitudes and beliefs one day they just may find out just how unhappy Jesus is with them.

I'm willing to bet Granny has deep pockets and always writes checks instead of dropping some green into the 'NO Collections' Donation birdhouse. The bros. probably make the KH mortage payment with her generous sacrifices to Jehovah..

just got off the phone with the judicial committee, the same one that i blew off last sunday.

i wasn't even sure they'd call, but come to think of it, i think that's just what they're supposed to do if i don't show up.

they called as a conference call (none of them has been willing to talk to me on the phone alone!

You guys and the bible have just about convinced me that for the 2nd time in 51 years I'm going to decorate this humble shack from one to the other in lights in November. The Babylon the Great church I've been attending since I told the borg to bite the big one calls it the gift of Christmas because it gives you an opportunity to witness to folks about Jesus even though it really ain't the day he was born. I may even send the KH a Christmas card that wishes them:

Glory to God in the Highest Heaven, and Peace on Earth to People He Favors (CSB)

I guess that pretty much counts them out but they'll think it a compliment anyway.

So, then, if we measure backward down the "First Ascending Passage" to its junction with the "Entrance Passage," we shall have a fixed date to mark upon the downward passage. This measure is 1542 inches, and indicates the year B.C. 1542, as the date at that point. Then measuring down the "Entrance Passage" from that point, to find the distance to the entrance of the "Pit," representing the great trouble and destruction with which this age is to close, when evil will be overthrown from power, we find it to be 3457 inches, symbolizing 3457 years from the above date, B.C. 1542. This calculation shows A.D. 1915 as marking the beginning of the period of trouble; for 1542 years B.C. plus 1915 years A.D. equals 3457 years.Thus the Pyramid witnesses that the close of 1914 will be the beginning of the time of trouble such as was not since there was a nation -- no, nor ever shall be afterward. And thus it will be noted that this "Witness" fully corroborates the Bible testimony on this subject.

I say, let's go to the original "Faithful and Discreet" slave and "Prophet" himself to find how the pivotal year of 1914 A.D. came to be calculated. The reader is then able to draw his own conclusion as to the validity of the WTBTS and its "end time prophecy."

It only seems appropriate then, that the WTBTS's Queens, N.Y. Assembly Hall and the grave of Charles Taze Russell in Pennsylvania are adorned with images and monuments to the WT God.

since i've been re-reading crisis of conscience, i've come to appreciate that many good people have been "shafted" by those in the "truth".

franz and company got the boot.

Is that the same as being spiritually violated?

If so, everyone who has ever been in the borg is a rape victim.

Who are "God's" enemies? Really...

but the bible clearly talks of destruction of "god's" enemies right?

it can't be that many.

I feel sorry for the dubs if they see us on the 'other side'. Maybe I should be feeling more sorry for the GB if they make it. The dubs may take it personally.

i've seen a few other ones but this one seems to be the most active.

by far the most interesting and diverse.. there's another one out there on e-watchman but found that one to be quite cheezy.

everyone overuses emoticons for some reason over there.

We prefer to think of ourselves as enthusiastic about the JW's. So much so that if just one life is saved it is worth all the effort.
