Have you noticed an oddity at indoor conventions?

every time i've attended a dc in an indoor arena, i 've noticed a u.s. flag hanging on the rafters or somewhere prominently displayed.

of course it is a permanent fixture of the arena.

anyways, since national flags are symbols of idolatry.

It shouldn't bother them. After all, their esteemed B.S. leader CT Russell is buried under a pyramid and the Queens assy hall has pagan Egyptian gods all over it.

My church family is over 20 miles up the road. My former KH is only 7 miles. I don't care if it was 1,000 miles to my real bros. and sis. and only 10 feet to a KH. I'd make the 1,000 miles if I had to crawl. That's the difference between Christ's love and Satan's hatred.

great tribulation?

i was talking to another ex-witness recently and i brought up "the great tribulation" but she wasn't familiar with this term--i was raised with it.

as i recall (i might be a little cloudy in remembering) i was taught that after armageddon, satan rules for 100 years and this time was "the great tribulation" because jws would be thrown in concentration camps and burned at the stake or something...or maybe it happens right before armageddon?

i'm starting to think this may be one of those false memories...or maybe a regional thing?

I guess I wasn't a good dub because I never believed any of that Great Tribulation shit the WT is so concerned with. I just keep remebering what Rev 1:3 says about being Blessed. Has the WTBTS ever got any shit they put out right other than C.T. Russelll figured out the year 1914 by measuring some damn pyramid in Egypt. What a fruitcake and to think I once believed that crap.

i came here to gain insight into my guy and it's been quite an eye-opening education.

thanks to all of you for all i have learned.

I Received the New Magazines in My Mail...

over the summer, they moved people into their proper congregations based on territory.

although i'd never gone to the closest hall, this is where the magazines came from per the return address.].

jehovah's organization and dual fulfillment prophecy

my dad disaggress and backs it up by saying that god has always had an organization or his righteous people on earth.

it used to be isreal but when jesus came he changed that and established a new convenant/congregation.

Jehovah's Witnesses usually answer such questions by saying something like this: "His appointment is obvious. After all, Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Bible far better than any other so-called Christian denomination. And no one else but us is preaching 'the good news of the kingdom' worldwide. And no other group has love among themselves like we do. So, we must be God's organization!"

I beg to differ with all of the above for the following reasons:

Evidently they don't understand Deuteronomy 18:22 or they would leave the WTBTS

They claim to be preaching and placing literature in 200+ lands. However, when I was in Jamaica in 1993 and went to KH for the TMS and Service Meeting they were using the preceding month's KM and all but one of the attendees had a photostatic copy. They had a fit when they saw the new one I had. I felt so bad for them I almost cried. Also, the phrase Jesus used when he said the Good News would be preached to all the nations was ta ethne which literally means ethnolinguistic groups and not geo-political groups. There are approximately 11,000 ethnolinguistic groups on earth today. The WTBTS spent $63 million on missionaries in 1999. The Southern Baptist Convention alone spent over $136 the same year and that's not counting the other religions of Christendom. Do a little research and you will find that all of them preach the same message about the Kingdom - Jesus Christ as saviour. The WTBTS Good News is preaching a different gospel of Christ than anyone else.

Love among themselves - Just let them know you have been on the internet looking at JW sites and see just how much love you're going to receive or, ask them a question they can't answer like "Why did the WTBTS affiliate themselves with the UN as an NGO for almost 10 years without telling anyone until the story came out in a British newspaper. Let's see... probably take about 2 days to call a JC on you for creating dissension among the faithful if you tell anyone else in the congregation about it.

Have a lovely time recording your FS while true christians know that God is the one who records our activities. When are you dubs gonna wake up from the trance you're in?

I can't get a straight answer

can anyone tell me if the organization believes that when a married spouse is addicted to pornography, they are actually cheating?

i mean cheating in the sense that the "innocent" spouse can then declare that they are victims of adultery, and be free to marry again?

i looked around their website and found nothing that specifically stated that it is considered cheating.

"Wait on Jehovah and don't rely on your own understanding" while the GB gets some new light to impart to the ~~fools~~ flock on the subject. In the meantime be loyal... to God's chosen organisation.

Just remind the "Princes" (at least that's what most of the elders around here believe they are) what 1 Co. 7:15 says if you discover someone the dubs don't know anything about... Jesus... should you or your mate decide to hit the road when you find he is not the WT Jesus.
