We all know how the Watchtower throws elders under the bus when lawsuits against the organization are filed so it is probably a blessing in disguise for them as long as they haven't covered up acts of child molestation.

Turned me into the elders who made many, many, TOO MANY visits over the course of 4 years.
A MS and his uber spouse also visited many, many, TOO MANY times over the course of 4 years.
When my spouse and I separated two elders started snooping around my home at night trying to catch me committing adultery.
My sposue constantly violated an order of protection and did the same thing until one of my friends who is an officer in the local Sheriff's Department followed her as she pulled into my street.
When I filed for divorce the BOE harssed me until I showed up at one of their fact finding meetings with a digital tape recorder.
A month after my divorce was final I called the PO and told him that I had had enough of the cult and didn't want them to evre contact me.
They haven't and I haven't had any contact with the few members of my family still in for over 10 years.
The jaydubyas avoid me and run the other way when the see me in public.
I like it that way.

local needs "are you spiritually grown up?"
by sylvlef inyesterday local needs was this theme.
are you spiritually grown up.. summary: if you are between 18-35 and not ms or elder, you lazy idiot are like a child.
at this age, especially if you grew up in "da trooooth" you have no issue with jw.org doctrine right (how do you know...?

Just Kidding:
" Zoos, in many cases there IS young blood eager to reach out, but the fault-finding & over-critical elders do not give them a chance. That was what happened in my case, and it had the reverse effect on me. Instead of striving to do more and "reach out", I was discouraged to the point that I began to despise "reaching out." I felt that it was as if the elders were dangling a carrot on the end of a stick in front of me & that I was the donkey wasting effort in trying to reach that carrot. That discouragement led me to discover TTATT & here I am!"

What are the Core Teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by cultBgone inrecently someone asked me to define what core teachings have such a hold on jdubs that they have trouble breaking free.
trying to single out the driving force that keeps them in the borg, this is what popped into my head:.
obviously there are lots and lots of wacky things the jdubs teach/believe/pretend to believe.

VISIBILITY
by LostGeneration inbreakfast of champions mentioned this on the elder appointment thread and it struck a chord with me.. is this term big in bethel?
obviously nothing in my bible says a thing about being 'seen' in serve-us or in other jw activities, but a long time bethelite went off on a visibility tirade that i remember distinctly during special servants/elders meeting when i was in.
i remember at the time thinking that the big j-dog in the heavens sees everything, so why the big fuss over the rank and file seeing us do stuff for the big j-dog?.

I just had fun giving a talk!
by OneEyedJoe inso, unfortunately, i'm still on the tms and had a talk tonight (in front of a co, no less) and the talk was on the subject of adultery.
in the source material there's reference to "spiritual adultery" i.e.
idolotry or when israel had alliances with pagan nations.

I'm under no illusion that I might have affected anyone present, but it was really fun to stand up there condemning 60 people while they all sat there nodding their heads in agreement.
Most of them don't know about the Watchtower riding the back of the wild beast for 9 years, and if they did they would say that the faithful slave knows what it is doing.
Clueless and asleep.

Working on a Sunday morning!
by lurkernomore init's coming up to 4 months since our last meeting.
apart from three visits to the house in the first 4 weeks we've not heard a peep from anyone, except for two 'encouraging' cards from two older ladies in the local hall.. a couple self-righteous, not even exemplary witnesses, have taken it upon themselves to pre-emptively shun me on a couple occasions, which i found rather funny.. anyway my grandad needed some minor building work doing to the front of the house, which my brother and i happily agreed to do for him.
his house is on a main road running up the hill to the kingdom hall.

Interesting conversation today with a very sick JW
by joe134cd ini was talking to a jw friend of mine who is going for tests to see if she needs evasive surgery.
she was describing to me the look on the surgeons face when she told him she won't except blood.
i just felt sorry for her.

I started off with the vaccination policy quotes after a JW friend of mine insisited I get a flu shot. They weren't happy to see that. Moved onto organ transplant quotes and they were appalled. Somehow, they couldn't see the correlation between those misstatements and the potential for a doctrinal change in the blood policy.
I was told, "Unlike those policies, the blood doctrine is scriptural."
So were vaccinations and organ transplants.
I have come to the conclusion that many Jehovah's Witnesses have a death wish.
