The conflict of living in a divided home is finally getting to me - 8 years later - advice please

to cut my long story short, having left the religion in 2006, my marriage with 2 young kids involved went through a fairly difficult time.

for a few years.

as i rebelled against the belief system i was astonished that having pointed out reasonable & logical objections, my wife just stood by the religion.

You have to do what's right for you, obviously. You only get one life. If it's of any help to you, as a kid I used to secretly hope my parents would split up so I could live with my normal parent and not be borgified. I silently realized very early that the religion was nuts, even though I was brainwashed/fearful it could be true, and talking the party line. Of course kids will have different reactions and yours may not feel that way.

Good luck with whatever path you end up taking. I imagine the path will go between a rock and a hard place. (( ))

has anyone had success with a high traffic website or blog ?.

it might take a team of people to accomplish.. ads pay and people count, lots and lots of people.

does jehovahs-witness.net make money every time someone looks at the web site?

One time, I asked Simon if he had a way for members to send him a few bucks (if they wanted to) or if we could all click a few ads once in a while to support the site. He declined. So what we have is a clear indication he is not trying to profit from this site, and a total absence of evidence contradicting that.

This "attracting xians to the site" accusation is interesting. I wonder if the OP has cookies that make her see xian ads when she comes here. I see shoes.

Two Witness principle

one thing that i agree with is the two or more witness principle.. i have an experience to tell why.. at work for lunch i go to my car and eat and read emails on my laptop (since i can't bring my laptop in).

one day a hr director and my director told me about an occasion where i was in my car and a woman went out to her car that was next to me and left for lunch.

she came back and pulled in a spot and saw that i was in my car to the left of her and what came to her mind was that i must have just pulled in after her and she felt uncomfortable with that and thinking that i was following her and she went to security.

Added to a fb group w/o permission

i don't know if anyone here can assist me, i hope so.

it's not an earth shattering problem compared to many on here, but i am bugged by it!.

i have been added 2x to a christian fb group w/o being asked by the same gentleman.

This happened to me when that organization was ramping up...what's it called..AAWA or whatever. A person from this forum, whom I had been friendly with for years, added me to ex-jw groups twice without my permission. It shows up on your feed and page for all to see. The first time, I spoke with her about it, and while she did not understand why anyone would be concerned about this, she agreed not to do it. The 2nd time, I unfriended her.

this was the last sentence my dad wrote to gb in his letter explaining why he is disassociating from jws.

it seems gb did not send copy of the letter to the body of elders!

sometime later two elders visited him to encourage him to rethink his decision.

OT: To be fair, wts uses the term "deaf-dumb" (or at least they used to back when this story took place). And as we know, people in mind control cults don't instantly shed every mannerism, behavior and belief when they leave.

They are showing what appears to be hospital surveillance video of the dad leaving the hospital with the child, which makes me wonder if he snuck out. If there was a court order then it would seem he was violating that order. (Here's a somewhat similar situation.)

Exactly. Obviously one objective was to show the child is ok, but he should have carried on his 2nd objective (developing support for his acts) without the child in earshot. He talks about how sick the kid is. Does the kid need to hear how grave his condition is? Then he talks about stuff no 5-year-old could possibly cope with--the police looking for his dad.

It was pretty horrible he kept the child in the room for that very adult discussion, but of course he learns no boundaries on that matter from his Mother org.
